Story

Since 1923 and long before Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall was dotted with concept stores, multi-level shopping centres, superstores and the like, the city’s consummate consumers have flocked to Brisbane Arcade to enjoy couture fashion, jewellery, tailors and other shopping experiences.

Brisbane Arcade has been synonymous with Queensland’s leading fashion designers and houses. Some of the city’s best known and most highly decorated designers have been headquartered at Brisbane Arcade including Gwen Gillam, Harvey Graham, Michael Klease, Anthony Leigh Dower, Royce Facy, Irma J Smith, Debra Kolkka, Adam R Dixon, Lydia Pearson (of Easton Pearson fame) and Keri Craig.

Today, Brisbane Arcade’s leading designers include Bora, Darb Couture, Irma J Smith House of Fashion, Maiocchi, Pia du Pradal and Tengdahl Australia plus many of Queensland's very best jewellery designers and other accessories or fashion boutiques, some of Brisbane's most renowned and awarded high tea cafes (Keri Craig Emporium and Room with Roses) and gift emporiums (Keri Craig Emporium, The Pen Shoppe, The Tea Centre and Chocolate Moments).

The Arcade's old world charm is enchanting and it is a completely unique shopping destination where true craftsmanship and making - whether fashion, jewellery, pen or watch repairs or engraving - happens on site in busy workrooms and studios.
