My partner & I were quite shocked at the quality of our meals. We are loyal customers of Breakers nationwide, so we know our order before we walk through the doors. Disappointed as we didn't bother to touch the beef schnitzel meal, and the creamy mussels tasted like they were cooked in a microwave. The fries and fish were over cooked and the only decent meal were the nachos. A real let down as a first visit to Gisborne. I hope it improves.
Great lunch I had the pasta of the day chessy buns and garlic bread was yummy! My mate had a steak meal she enjoyed very much. Great service. Had to take to go bags.
Spacious diner but empty. Food tastes basic but serving was generous.
Good meals, decent prices although some are a wee bit pricey. Steak wasn't cooked on a hot enough grill, so was grey not browned and lacked depth of flavour. Chicken Diane gravy was extremely salty. Other meals, especially burgers were well done. Ribs were excellent. Great service. Toilets except 1 were all closed before venue closed, which made final uses a bit of a wait. Great off road parking which was needed considering there was no onroad parking due to theatre event nearby.
Not a great experience though we dined on New Year’s Eve so understand it may have been understaffed. There were only a handful of items we could choose from a limited menu, somehow ordering nachos, wedges, eggs Benedict 2 drinks and guacamole for the nachos totalled $85!!!! Not good value for money. Food was awful unfortunately, hollandaise was so eggy and covered the dish, with the nachos stale, wedges lacking flavour and all in all we waited 30-45 minutes not too bad however half the dishes came out quickly and were finished long before the rest of us got ours. The guacamole was a poor serving, roughly two tablespoons for $8 and the staff were flustered and didn’t appear to know what they were doing to get our order right. Very let down from our experience especially with how much was paid.
Shocking customer service, just kept taking new orders instead of dealing with people that had already ordered waiting 20 minutes just for drinks to be the wrong ones. Then another customer at the bar brought our new drinks. The overpriced Food when it finally come out it was cold and looks like it come out of the supermarket freezer one meal every 5 minutes instead of all together
Dinner for 2. Service was great. Food - average. Beef Nachos, Fish & Chips, garlic bread &. Potato nocchi with cheesy sauce chefs special 1 jug of sprite. $67.00 Decent portions. Good parking.
Amazing service today from the worker that was on that was bringing out the meals he was awesome our food an everything was perfect an everything came out on time our family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves thankyouz Gisborne breakers much appreciated an thanks
What has happened to breakers Gisborne, Took my daughter there for her birthday, waited 20min for her grom fish and chips, which was cold and under cooked, then waited another 20 min for mine and parnters meals for them to only be cold too, we had ordered a Sunday for my daughter but got sick of waiting so left We have really injoyed going to breakers gisborne in the past, but unfortunately I will never be returning there for meal, I was disgusted with what we got for the price,
Food was average but overpriced. Cutlery and glassware were filthy. Table and menus were sticky and generally unclean. Had to seek out service despite restaurant being near empty.
