A convenient, comfortable, spacious and clean Motel in the Fraser Coast Region, close to Maryborough City centre, local attractions and event sites. Rooms range from comfortable Standard Rooms to Business Rooms and spacious Executive or Family room options. **Note - Many of our rooms are in the final stages of impressive renovations until 01 December*** Executive, business and Family pool rooms are away from this area and still open for business!! Restaurant is having a fabulous makeover too and brand new commercial kitchen being installed. Chargeback and room service dinners available from our friendly neighbouring Pub, the Lamington.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was great. We had a loft room and yes it does need a little updating but was still great. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. The staff are great, and the couple who managed the motel are lovely people. They went out of their way to help us. Parking in the back section where our room was can be a little tight and hit and miss but other than that no problems.. We would definitely stay again and recommend this motel.
We have been staying at the Blue Shades for the past 4 years at least 6 times a year for sports events it has always been a pleasure to stay until the last couple of stays where the managers have been rude and abusive. This morning while talking on the back veranda the family next door were in the pool area and their kids were having a swim I understand that it was around 7:30 and it was before you were allowed to use the pool but manager came out and said the pool doesn’t open until 8:00 get out before I drag you out this is not appropriate for anyone to speak to guests I’m but after 4 years I think we will be looking for accommodation elsewhere which is a shame.
Great location in Maryborough and easy to find. The parking sucked. We were in a family room and arrived late at night. The complex was tight to get into, and then nowhere to park. The room was lovely and had everything we needed for 1 night. The beds were comfortable. This has to be the only place I have stayed where the pillows were too firm/big! I only sleep on 1 pillow normally, but it felt like I was going to snap my neck lol, so I had to use a throw cushion. The room was clean, and had enough crockery and tea/coffee supplies for all of us. I love it when a shower cap is provided!! There was also a hair dryer. Would I stay here again? 100%.
We were stuck in town awaiting a car repair. Stayed in the big 2 room family room. Plenty of space, kitchen too, which was great. Staff were so helpful. Comfy beds. Affordable too. Double glazing reduced the road noise. Staff told us about the pub over the road - bit of a hidden gem.
Having personal business in the area in December, I stayed at Blue Shades Motel twice. Clean, spacious rooms and friendly service. Smart TV and kitchenette.nI would definitely stay again.
