Bike Zone Fitzroy

Quality product at a great price. The wheels I bought were about $300 cheaper at Bike Zone than I could find online elsewhere in Australia. Excellent, on-the-spot, free, 1 hour fitting and adjustment of wheels, brake pads, tubes and tyres and adjustment of gears. My experience of this store was first rate.

Dropped my bike in just to get a tube replaced because I didn’t have time to do it myself. Didn’t ask about prices or anything (usually cheap as chippies) and headed off to work to receive a call saying that the work wasn’t going to be done by the end of the day (just for a tube change, about 5 mins worth of labour) and once it was ready I went in there and it cost me $25. Absolute rip off, the tube would cost around $3-$7 and the labour usually isn’t charged since it takes under 5 minutes. The staff in there were also super rude and it seemed like I was dramatically inconveniencing them (strange considering they were super lovely and helpful to me when I was purchasing an expensive helmet and my lock from them). These guys had me shook at how little shucks they give about customer service unless a wad of cash is involved. If getting a simple tube replacement then Tokyo bike around the corner do it super quickly and cheaply, for more complicated bike enquirers try ANY of the others in the area as they are all fantastic bar these guys!

Not great customer service. When I told the shopkeeper my budget (which was below the bikes they have in store) he basically walked away from me. That pretty much says it all. Don't go to this place. They're obviously just in it for the money.

After I had my beloved bike stolen, Mocha gave a great deal on a fantastic new bike! He fitted it with a basket and lights and has been so helpful ever since. I've gone back to Mocha for everything since getting my bike and every time he has been so generous with his time and has given me great prices on everything. Recently, after a car hit me on my bike, Mocha was more concerned with how I was - he was very caring and he put on a new wheel for a very good price. Thanks Mocha, I will always come back to your fantastic shop! :-)

Mocha and Stefan run a fantastic shop with a great selection of bikes. I bought a road bike here in 2017 and they’ve always been happy to help out.
