Thank you Berowra Waters Inn for a memorable experience. From the big welcome we got when we landed in the seaplane to the relaxed and professional service we got through the whole afternoon. The staff are great story tellers in explaining each of the 6 dishes on the degustation menu. Their knowledge of the wine list is extremely helpful as there is a lot to choose from. The service was impeccable as it is hard to find that level of service in some of the finer dining establishments in Sydney.
Gorgeous restaurant around an hour away from CBD. Love that you have to get a boat transfer to get to the restaurant so it feels very secluded & exclusive. Lovely views whilst dining even though I went when it was raining. The tasting menu was faultless, lots of great dishes showing Australian produce. Definitely a memorable meal!Recommended dishesCrab Custard, Honey Golden Kiwi and Custard
It was my third time dining at the inn and yet again was blown away. The food is incredible - experimental, flavours are well balanced, and presentation is perfect. The duck is always a stand out, and the wine and cocktails pair perfectly with the courses. The inn is not just about the food either - the waiters, sommelier, chefs, are all passionate about what they do and provide a one of a kind dining experience. Could not recommend enough to those who appreciate fine dining at its best. Well done team!
I went there for celebrating my birthday with my partner today. Everything we have eaten was amazing! Highly recommend to choose the classic wine pairing, the stuff will introduce each of the history behind the wine which is something I never experienced in other fine dining, and I found very interesting to listen to as well. Love all the wine, and I could tell it has taken bit of time to select the best wine to match with the meals. Will definitely come back when there’s a new course menu: Wonderful experience!
This place taught me that fine dining isn't just about the food but about the experience. Everything at Berowra Waters Inn is carefully crafted to ensure you get your money's worth. From the numerous unique flavoursome exciting dishes especially the off menu spanner crab custard? - the yellow and green soup in the bowl picture 10000/10 , to the unparalleled views overlooking Berowra Creek, the entire time you are there, there's something to be amazed about. Shoutout to our waiter Maverick who gave us an excellent rundown on each dish and ensured that our table was clean and dishes were flowing smoothly. I will absolutely be back and potentially in the future I may even splurge for the seaplane transfer to get there! Warning $$$
so much more than 'lunch', our afternoon at Berowra Waters Inn was an experience to remember. After a scenic drive to the Inn's private wharf, we were collected by barge, ferried across to the picturesque Inn, & warmly greeted by a gathering of cheerful staff. The bright, fresh interior with well spaced tables is relaxed & spacious, furnished with an austerity that allows the view to take centre stage. seated facing the panorama of water & bushy escarpments our waiter described a little about the menu & the first in a series of Instagramable taste sensations soon followed. served at a leisurely pace, the degustation showcased stunning local produce in artfully crafted dishes packed with subtle & unexpected combinations of flavour. the food was not overly rich & we devoured 8 courses with no regrets - apart from wishing we could afford to be regular patrons. A great day - the perfect way to celebrate the very special occasion of our amazing Mum's 88th birthday.
Started off with Beetroot Parfait Followed by the Scallop Nashi, Kingfish Prawn Zucchini, Chicken Corn and Mushroom, Wagyu caper and union, deserts of Pistachio and Lemon and lastly Native frozen Nougat and Apricot. This was one of the best meals I have had in Sydney. Every course was well presented with a symphony of flavours. Every course hit the mark presentation wise as well the texture flavour etc etc. Beautiful Wines. Wonderful experience. Bottom line $686 including wine, mineral water, coffee and half dozen Oysters Plus flight from Rose Bay
We gastronomically welcomed in the new year with a 6 -course degistation menu at Berowra waters inn, which i can confirm is firmly in good hands at least for the next 15 years . Although its only an hour’s drive or fast seaplane flight from Sydney to the beautiful Hawkesbury, Beeowra waters. We opted to stay on a house boat for theee days and soak in the scenery . For dinner we were collected from our house on the river by a small boat, captianed by friendly Darryl. The Inn itself is a beautiful 1800’s sandstone building reinvented by Glenn Murcutt- It has an iconically Australian look, which i love. Large floor to ceiling glass lovre windows, give you a front row seat to a river scene like a McCubbin painting, swooping birds, and Australian bush reflected in the sparkling Berowra waters. The somillier Darcy was easy to talk to and full of knowledge, and found us the perfect wine . The menu is very carefully considered and has incredible clean, precise and joyful dishes, which is a credit to the talented kitchen team. We had some gorgeous houredervesthat started with a teaspoon mouthful size smoked Flathead beignet, a tiny ceramic cup of pea consommè with mint, then a delightful little fresh cucumber toped with kangaroo pastrami with a centre of cottage cheese. The next dish flawed me, a crab and miso custard, the sweetest silk i have ever eaten. Then the performance really got started, with Kingfish, Coconut & Cucumber. A sweet little brioche loaf with tomato butter, was fluffy and so cute. Then the nicest Murray cod piece seasoned expertly with yuzu and pepper, delicately succulent duck slice, served with blueberries flavoured with lavender. The perfect amount of Lamb, topped with Chickpea. Here we were offerd an extra cheese course of Holy goat cheve, but we declined, already wondering of we would be able to fit in desert. The desert really impressed me, the rhubarb, with yoghurt and davidson plum, was akin to some kind of cheffing alchemy, plated like a flowering pink sea urchin, with slithered dried rhubarb perfectly placed that then dissolved like tart fairyfloss in my mouth, exceptional cooking. To finish was a glossy little unasumming round of dark chocolate tart, with a pairing of fresh berries and cream. This was so well balanced and with the lightest thinest pastry This is a magnificent magical dining experience. I highly recommend going. 10/10
Very unique and beautiful setting, loved arriving by boat. Food was fantastic, I’ve eaten at many Michelin star restaurants around the world and found the food here comparable, with very unique and delicious taste combinations on offer. I was a little disappointed by the dessert dishes, they were all very similar taste profiles to one another and not up to standard of the other dishes. Also, it is VERY expensive - great for a special occasion but wouldn’t return in a hurry. I’d give it 4.5 out of 5 if I could, but 5 is certainly fair given how good the food was overall!
My husband and I got married at Berowra Waters Inn in January 2020. The venue and outlook were perfect. The food was next level and to this day nearing three years later our wedding guests still comment that it was the best food that they had ever had. We look forward to visiting again and would recommend to anyone.
