This was one of the worst hostels I have ever set foot in! My friend and I were upgraded, which at first we were very thankful for, until we saw the room. It looked visually awful and wasn’t the most clean. The paintwork was chipped and the room extremely bare.nnOur room was located above a bar/club and so we struggled to fall asleep even with earplugs in. This wasn’t great considering our 5am alpine crossing shuttle the next day. Also our key cards never worked!nnOur bathroom was very dirty with dead bugs all around the window and on the floor. There was no hand towels and so no way to dry your hands after washing them. There was also an empty tissue box just left of the side which showed the bathrooms was never cleaned.nnThe kitchen facilities were poor. The stoves were extremely difficult to use and even at their lowest heat were still much too strong. It was also under stocked in terms of cutlery.nnAll in all not a great experience and we wouldn’t recommend.
Hostel is very good and rooms are pretty clean. We had a great view and we wanted to give it 5 stars for the value. The main issue is that it’s in the middle of bar and clubs and they make a lot of noise until 2.30am. That really messed up our night rest which we needed as we like to hike early in the morning.
Don’t be fooled by the photos of the “clean rooms” or enticed by the prices, room had hair all over the bed sheets window was wide open drafting through a strong smell of greasy fried food from the vent down below us, we then found a lovely hair hair brush under our bed! and of course a lovely pile of grit and dirt by the sides of the walls, not sure what the cleaners where doing looks like they skipped the clean and spent the check in time wait by the pool table down stairs.nSpend the extra money and go else where !
The location is good! Across the road and in the vacinity from local bars and easily accessible to heaps of restaurant, bakery, takeaway options i really enjoyed staying here. I do feel like there are some things that may need a bit of maintenance but other than that, really enjoyed my stay! Really convenient, staff were nice and you got the main neccessities needed
Nice place for a quick sleep ..but first floor shared washroom toilet lockcan't lock , no privacy,same toilet sink tap broken..nPlus those bunker beds makes so much noise just by doing a small turn around..No airconditioning with in a 4 person room in summer sweaty n hot ..If you want a decent night of sleep, this is not the place. Nightlife on Fri/Sat until 4am is keeping you wide awake. WiFi not working. Bad experience,Reception staff not nice , very rude
