Story

Barkly Square is a single level sub regional centre shopping centre managed by Jones Lang LaSalle and owned by ISPT Pty Ltd. The centre is located approximately 4kms north of Melbourne’s CBD, on the corner of Sydney Road and Barkly Street, in the heart of Brunswick’s multicultural community.

Barkly Square comprises of two supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths, K Mart and thirty-six speciality stores, all located on one convenient level.

Barkly Square is easily accessible by public transport with regular trams operating along Sydney Road and the Jewell Railway Station, a short distance west of the centre.

It wasn’t located in the most upscale area, but the shopping centre had a good variety of stores.
Middle of December and management couldn’t make the effort to put Christmas decorations up to make Barkley Square feel festive.
By chance I happened to come across this small shopping centre.nnDespite its size, it has an interesting array of stores. There is Woolworth's , K-Mart and McDonalds.nnA nice place to chill out.nnI had lunch at the Vietnamese Street Food outlet. The food was mediocre but the service was excellent.nnDefinitely worth a repeat visit.
It doesn't look all that big but it has all these stores and services - Barber, hairdresser, bakers delight, boost, skin care clinic, Coles, Woolworths, bws, Liquorland, shoe repair,phone repair, eb games, coffee, jeweller, flight Centre, fresh fruit & veg, seafood, butcher, poultry, gong Cha, house, nail salon, beauty parlour, massage therapist, JB hi-fi, Kmart, lord of the fries, Asian grocer, McDonald's, mycar, OPSM, Specsavers, Optus, priceline, roll'd, Schnitz, Telstra, zambrero, lotto stall, child tuition centre Kumon.nnPretty decent parent room too - 2 toilets, breastfeeding couches with curtains, working microwave, little play area, change tables and bins...nnPlenty of free uncovered parking, it's a pretty wide area so perhaps think about the shop you'll likely make the biggest/heaviest purchase and park closer to it so you're not carrying something too far.
Great place to do your shopping, alcohol, poultry, meat, whatever you like, has a kmart , coffee shops , eatery , etc
