Huge park - known as Heidi park for what I know. A great place for a walk and enjoy cherry blossoms in spring time . Would recommend to come in Oct is the best as the cherry blossoms will be in full bloom. There is a limited car park space and hope the Council will improve on that .
Banksia Park is a spacious haven by the Yarra River, ideal for families, history buffs, and dog owners alike. With plenty of open space, picnic areas, and playgrounds, it’s a popular spot for all ages, and the Heritage 1.9km Trail offers insight into local history. The park's cherry tree groves, a gift from Japan in 1980, add a unique charm, especially when in bloom. Dogs also can enjoy the fully fenced, off-lead area with a drinking fountain and shady spots, while visitors are advised to bring their own BBQs and dispose of rubbish off-site. Whether walking, cycling, or just relaxing, Banksia Park offers a beautiful escape in Melbourne’s north-east.
We visited in mid Oct. Tho there are many flowers, and it’s amazing. But the season should be a lit over. I think the best timing will be early Oct.
Amazing grounds of Heidi! No entry fee.nTake a picnic and select a piece of grass or have a bite to eat in the cafe before you go for a wander. Parking fills up pretty quickly. There’s parking as you enter, near the homestead, parking near the gallery and parking further down the hill; easy to cut through the grassy slope.nThere are loos in the cafe.
Nice large park. Great areas for walking and/or picnics. Go on market day for an additional experience.
