Great trails to ride in both the wet and dry. I rode them on a very wet Melbourne Cup Day and was impressed by the drainage and how rideable thy were. They are built well and the terrain is changing in some places, but nothing dauntingly scary. The berms are fun and practice CAUTION when approaching the kangaroos. Give them plenty of room as you are a guest in their home.
Great place to ride in the suburbs of Melbourne. Trails drain well and is challenging in both the wet and dry. Good climbs followed by twisting trails some with berms and little jumps. Be weary of the local kangaroos though. Toilets are located in Westerfolds Park.
I usually ride in Lysterfield Park and came here because Lystie is closed. Not fun at all. The trails are very narrow with loose rocks and lots of twists. Many intersecting trails making it very hard to stay in the main loop. I found myself having to stop constantly to check on the map or otherwise would run into a no-through road. The trails can be ridden in both directions so you would need to give way quite often, and it feels kinda dangerous if someone is riding downhill fast.
As a road cyclist, I tried mountain bike riding here for the first time. As I was riding with a friend, we came across with many wildlife animals. Fantastic scenery was a bonus. We were hoping to get a coffee at the only cafe there but unfortunately they were shut. We were too early for their opening hour. Many walkers and runners happen to be active during the early hours of the day. I will go there once more with my sons.
Great mtb trails. Lots of looping single-track and tight turns. Not many rock gardens or logs, low elevation change.
A short section of the Main Yarra trail then head around and South onto the Mullum Mullum trail for beautiful natural scenery and glimpses of the Mullum Mullum Creek.
Easy to access from the main road but the car park is a small - I'd recommend the main parking area but come by here for the other side of the yarra river track
Lots of little bike tracks spread out along the main path which spreads pretty far. We haven’t gone through all the tracks yet but hope to soon.
Great place to park and start your bike ride along the Main Yarra Trail.
WOW very good car park have not had my car stolen.
