We stayed here as our holiday home in Port Douglas and were very impressed. On arrival, there was a welcome cheese platter and a bottle of champers in the fridge, along with some basics like milk. The pantry included some essentials and first aid supplies including insect repellent and a cream for insect bites and rashes. There was also some good advice in the info folder on keeping moths and other insects out at night. Most evenings we ate outside on the balcony with the BBQ. My family enjoyed the pool very much and we all loved the view over Port Douglas. The house is laid out over two levels - ground and lower ground. Entry is from the ground level with a few steps and inside there are a couple of steps to negotiate between the different sitting areas. The bedroom suite is on the ground level and all the other bedrooms are downstairs on the lower ground level. The only reason it doesn't get a full five stars from me is that, as I have some mobility issues, I struggled with the steps inside the house. Also, I found I could get into the pool but couldn't get out again without my nephew lifting me the last step. Despite that, it is a beautiful house and, if we go back to Port Douglas, will likely book it again.
