Ayers House Museum is a unique landmark and destination in the heart of Adelaide's East End. Adelaide’s finest Victorian-era home, this spectacularly restored property is one of the last remaining grand nineteenth century residences that once lined the North Terrace cultural boulevard.
Experience nineteenth century South Australia through the life of Sir Henry Ayers, the five times Premier who built, furnished and decorated an opulent family home that embodies the luxurious lifestyles of wealthy colonial society. For decades the house was central to Ayers’ family life and an entertainment destination for Adelaide’s social and political elite.
