Story

Samstag Museum of Art presents a changing exhibitions program of contemporary visual art and art of the past that has relevance for us today.

The museum has been named in honour of two distinguished American benefactors to Australian culture, whose remarkable bequest provides opportunities for Australian artists to study overseas with the Samstag scholarship.

Our ambition is to present South Australian audiences with a full diversity of the contemporary visual arts, in all its forms, and of a quality equal to anything that can be found interstate, or for that matter, internationally.

Fascinating place, highly recommend.  Certainly don't see the need have food etc as there are numerous options nearby.

In a quiet corner of adelaide is this gallery. I always visit it when here in adelaide as it always has something to see that is interesting.  Highly recommended

Samstag exhibitions interesting, however i was only person there and nothing whatsoever to eat or drink within 100 mile radius, OR thats what it feels like!

What a fascinating and interesting museum we have here in Adelaide.

Always lots of great shows here in a multi level gallery space. Contemporary work from here and abroad , recommended.
