I visited on a blustery winters day, with occasional downpours and it was still beautiful.nThere were no flowers to be seen of course, but I think the native plants truly shine in the this sort of climate. I was a little surprised by the number of people there, but I guess everyone had the same sort of idea. There are a lot of interesting and educational garden setups around and the occasional sculpture have hidden among the scenery is a nice surprise.nAlso recommend the cafe.
Such an amazing, wonderful, beautiful, and inspiring place.nnCome along by yourself, with a friend, or with your family; they have something for everyone here.nnEnter and just leave all your stress and worries behind as you explore many different themes and styles.nnGetting there is easy, with the motorway/freeway close by and a bus stop very close.nnThey are open every day except Christmas Day.
I love this place! It is beautiful and you can learn a lot about the diversity of flora.nThis is a big place so it will take you hours to go through everything and also you can take beautiful pictures nDogs are welcome
We visited the botanic gardens at the beginning of NZ's autumn and they were still very vivid and full of colours and therefore, truly enjoyable to spend time in. The area is extensive, divided into various sections like herbal and fruit/vegetable gardens, rosarium, orchard and parts with native or African plants, so everyone can find something interesting to explore and admire. The park is also packed with paths for relaxing walks, lovely nooks for a bit of seclusion and lush green areas for a picnic or more active leisure.nThe parking next to the gardens is free but can get pretty busy. However, with a pinch of patience, you can find a free spot within a few minutes. The entrance to the gardens is also free of charge.
My first ever visit to Auckland botanic gardens was fantastic. Really enjoyed and cherished time and getting lost in the nature surrounded by flowers and trees. Really cool. Just bring umbrella incase it rains Lol
