Important: Make sure you take ALL valuables with you and ensure your car is well secured. Unfortunately there are opportunists about.
Aside from that the park is awesome with a variety of great tracks to choose from. Plenty of shade. A great location to visit for a day trip and a barbecue/picnic or just a run or walk. Great for kids and families. There are 2 playgrounds and a pool which is open in the summer.
The park backs on to the Auckland Botanical Gardens so plenty to explore!

Great park for fitness and beautiful views, nice little outdoor pools open in the summer and  connected to the Auckland botanical gardens

Cool historic set of pools open to the public.
Only open in summer as it's not heated - and can get quite crowded.

But in the heart of Totara Park near the Botanic Gardens so great as part of a family outing
