The 5 stars are for the medical staff in ED.they are kind, thorough and very caring. I used my private health insurance this being the 2nd time to help the hospital out, and both times, I was put in a room with older men, no women and it stunk like stale urine. It saddens me that the staff are so lovely and they're doing the best they can, but I won't be using my private health to help the hospital anymore. I felt ucomfortable all night being in that room.
Yesterday my husband had two teeth removed in Cairns. We drove back to the Tablelands but at about 7:30, my husband’ s wound started to bleed profusely. Up to Emergency at Atherton Hospital.nOur experience was positive and had a successful outcome. Many thanks to the staff on night duty - nurses, reception, doctor and security. Apart from the inevitable long wait in the Emergency Department, 4 hours in my case, I received excellent care and support in Atherton Hospital. In total, I had dealings with at least 4 doctors. All of whom had my complete trust. They were knowledgeable, professional and dedicated to giving me the best outcome. The nurses also couldn’t do enough to make my stay comfortable. I recommend this hospital. The only reason not to give a 5 star rating, is the wait in ED.
I am so pleased with the level of caring at Atherton ED. I was treated very very well. Triage nurse was lovely and provided me with a heatpack for pain. Then as i was waiting for ultrasound a nurse gave me a warm blanket cause i was shivering so much. Just cant praise this service enough thankyou so much.nDeborah hillman
I’ve just spent two days in the hospital and I have to say it was an incredible experience. From Dr. Malone down the staff were absolutely professional and always friendly. I’m 76 yo and haven’t been in a hospital since 1965 and that was the Charleville base hospital. Also I must mention, the food was delicious. I thank you all so very much, John.
