An absolutely fantastic place. Regardless of your taste in lit. Argyle has something for you. Just be prepared to search for it. Hands down the best 2nd hand book store I've visited. Also stocks new books alongside comics both pop culture and contemporary, records, and plenty of collectibles and knick-knacks. If you've even the faintest interest in real books make a day of visiting and you will not be disappointed.

Pros: nice old building, lots and lots of books Cons: overpriced stock, most books are tattered junk, some real treasures but they are too expensive. But the main sticking point is the proprietor... a miserable guy who seems to find people in his shop a genuine nuisance. Plus he smokes n his own bookshop!? Suggest you don’t bother him by coming in for a browse.. I sure won’t again..
