Awesome second hand bookshop with a cafe onsite as well, and places to simply relax and read a book.

Have been looking for a bookstore/cafe combo and not found one in NZ so was happy to find this one, close to train station and shopping in this southern suburb 2 train stops from the beach (and less expensive than staying closer to Sydney CBD; trains are great get an OPAL are for discounts~)

Great coffee and cozy ambience. The perfect place to chill out and open a book.

This is one of my favourite places to go get a coffee in the shire as it has a lovely atmosphere and is well priced. Their scones are to die for and they make a great iced chocolate as well. It's lovely to go sit and read a new book while drinking your coffee or to browse the shelves while they prepare your food. If you have books that you no longer want then they will give you credit to spend on other books in exchange for your old ones which is great!

A great alternative to expensive reading.  Great coffee and a relaxed atmosphere while browsing and selecting reading material.
