Story

Aquavue Café Watersports is the Fraser Coast’s premier destination for food, fun and adventure.

The café is open for all day breakfast, lunch and evening, and serves morning and afternoon tea. Aquavue is renowned for their specially blended coffee prepared by trained baristas.

At Aquavue watersports of every kind can be enjoyed. There are Jet Skis, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, sailing catamarans, fishing boats and four wheel bike cruisers for hire and for the experience seekers’ and adrenaline junkies, there are Jet Ski Eco tours and adventure packages.

Great service and beachfront location. Enjoyed the Chicken club house sandwich and the adapted Calamari mango salad and others enjoyed their meals too. All were good sized servings, fresh and promptly served.nKayla provided excellent service was efficient, knew the menu well and was friendly and kindly took photos of group for us. Highly recommend for good food and service in a prime beachfront location.nThanks Kayla for your excellent and welcoming service.
We had our wedding reception here in May and loved it! Great location, great food, great staff! Also the perfect spot for sunset beach photos without going far from the party.
JUST A LOCAL’S WARNING – IF YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT HOSTING AN EVENT AT AQUAVUE… DON’T.nWe recently held an event on the deck at Aquavue. Yes, the location is beautiful — no argument there. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.nWe paid $4,000 just to secure the deck area, which still allowed full public access to the bar and toilets, which were accessed through the middle of our event, I even notice someone collect a cup cake from our cake table, on their way through including axe throwing patrons. If we wanted exclusive use of the bar as well, it would have cost an additional $2,000 — completely unreasonable in my opinion.nDespite this, we loved the venue position, so we went ahead. For context, we had previously hosted another event here around 4 years ago. Under the old setup, where a $2,000 minimum spend secured the entire venue. This time? No loyalty, no incentive — just double the cost under “new ownership” same family. We understand that cost have increased, however double in less than 4 years is excessive.nWe split the spend roughly:n$2,000 on foodn$2,000 bar tab which we increased by another $2,800 on the nightnSo over $7,000 spent on our event alone — and that’s not including whatever the venue made from the general public accessing the bar.nGuests were given wristbands for bar service, yet staff rarely if ever checked them. I personally witnessed multiple occasions where wristbands were not requested. So who exactly was drinking on our tab?nOn the day of the event, we couldn’t contact the event organiser due to a family emergency — completely understandable. What’s not acceptable is that no one from the venue contacted us to advise she wouldn’t be there, or to provide an alternative contact to coordinate the event. We were simply left in the dark to figure it out ourselves.nnNow, the food.nWe ordered:nThe large std antipasto grazing table approx. 2m x 0.8m for a cost of $840 andn4 x favourite platters 80 pieces each at $170 each. The platters were at an acceptable level and as expected. HOWEVER, The grazing table, was an absolute RIP OFF.nThe photos I have attached taken at 5:15pm before guests arrived speak for themselves. The table was bulked out with excessive bread and crackers — some of which were stale — and very little actual content. Presentation was poor, quantity was lacking, and overall it was completely below standard.nAfter the event, I raised these concerns with the venue. The response? Just as disappointing and unacceptable as the food and service.nI was told it was my fault for not raising these issues on the night. Let me be clear — I made a conscious decision not to address this on the evening to avoid the possibility of causing a scene and ruining our celebration. That should not be used against me.nI also provided the venue with the attached photos comparing what was advertised in their brochure versus what we actually received. The only response from the owner? That the flowers shown in their promotional image were not included — completely missing the point about the huge gap in quality and quantity.nYes, Hervey Bay is growing rapidly. But that does not give businesses the right to cut corners and charge premium prices for substandard service.nIn my opinion, this venue is more interested in maximising profit than delivering the quality and experience they advertise.nConsider this a WARNING!!!nSPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE.
Food was well presented and tasted great!nThe young guy that greeted us and took us to our table was awesome... a real asset to the business.nAll other staff were great too.nKeep up the great work!
