Aquavue Cafe and Restaurant

More positives than negatives. Four of us visited for lunch on December 30th before doing some kayaking. It was the lunch rush and they had a full house. The staff were very friendly, greeting us and bringing over menus as soon as we walked in which was nice. Once we placed our order of drinks and meals we waited about 15 or so minutes before having to ask for our drinks, it was busy, but it was hot and we were melting! The meals came out about 30 minutes after ordering which I think was fine timing in a busy lunch period. We were all happy with our meals, we shared some tapas plates, the amazing chunky fries, another had the fish and chips which he raved about and the garlic prawns were a generous portion and delicious! The only criticism of the food was the whiting and calamari where not very hot, still enjoyable though. I would recommend a visit and will do so again myself sometime soon. Oh I almost forgot, we returned for a coffee after, it was amazing!

Fantastic breakfast wrap. Perfect. Took on a request to change fried egg to scrambled without issue. Only one tiny issue, the hash brown tasted like fish. I must have attended the day before the oil got changed because everything else was great.

million dollar view, great food. would be nice to have air cond in the hot summer months.

Absolutely DISCUSTING behaviour from the old man! I had ordered lunch with my nephew he had a subway sandwich with him, his staff came up and politely asked me to take put it away because it's the restaurant rules that you're not to bring in food from anywhere else, which I apologised and said I didn't know, as I was putting it back in the bag another waitress (literally seconds later) came up to me and said "I'm going to have to ask you to leave because you can't have food from somewhere else here" which I responded yes I've already been told I'm just putting it in the bag, would you still like me to leave? She said "oh" and walked off. About ten mins later I walked up to get some water and an old man approached me (possibly the owner) and he said "do you know it's illegal to have food in here from another place?" I responded "no I didn't but I've already been asked to put it away and it has been put away, what's the issue now?" He responded that my nephew had reached into the bag and taken a bite when I was not looking, to which I responded that if he did that when my back was turned how can I tell him not to do it? He then proceeded to say "you need to control this bad behaviour I have five kids and I know I would have dealt with them a whole lot differently if they did that" again I said I did not see him do that and when I looked back he was as sitting there politely with his hat on. I said I would like to leave and get a refund because I now feel incredibly uncomfortable and anxious, he told me I could stay and just to "control the child" i then asked for a takeaway box so I could leave and he also said no to this request so I went back to the table and asked my nephew if he took a bite or not and he said no! I went to get my hat from the bag because it's sunny, i asked him why would the man make up a story like this and he said "well I'm not lying he is" ! Once the meals arrived we ate as fast as possible to get out of there, the garlic prawns were terrible and tasted and looked like slop on a plate too by the way. On our way out I stopped and said to the man , " you accused my nephew of eating a subway at your restaurant and he actually didn't, he went into the bag to get his hat" he glared and me and said thank you and turned his back on me and walked off! Avoid this place at all costs, don't be tempted by the seaside view because it's not worth it, if you have children this man it defiantly not happy to have children there ! Going so far to intimidate and lie is completely NOT on. I hope you can learn from your mistakes and it's never too late to change and become a better and decent human being! This guy is on a power trip and needs to check himself before he disgruntles the wrong person. P.S you nearly met her today . Shame on you!!!!
