It’s been awhile since we last ate at Anshumann. We use to goto the one across the street. Felt that the atmosphere was quite low in this visit. Service was poor. Went in and sat down. Plates, cutlery and water was placed on the table but didn’t say if we order from the table or need to go up to the counter. Even when I went up to the counter they didn’t say that they would take the order from the table. They served the next customer instead at their table. Food arrived at the table and they didn’t say which dish it was. No photos shown in menus so if you want to try something different than the usuals then it can be a minefield when you’re not sure what they are. Overall it was quite bland unfortunately and lack of flavour. It’s definitely not as good as it used to be.
This is probably one of the quickest service in any restaurant. Food was really tasty.. staff is very friendly and helpful.. Kashmiri kofta was simply amazing. Presentation is not bad.. we have been here couple of times and the taste was same both the time..Recommended dishesDhaba Rice, Paneer Masala, Channa Bhatura, Chana Masala, Thali, Tandoori Chicken
The location which shows in the google map is different from the actual location. It directs you to the old shop which was closed and you will find the exact one bit further but on the otherside of the road. Food was okay, but was not the best I would say. Tables were not clean as expected. They offered rice and curries on a pot with a candle underneath. But the candle was not light up. I was wondering what's the point of leaving a candle underneath if it isn't light up to keep the food warm. By the way the customer service also not that professional.
Checked the menu and the low curry prices tempted us immediately to enter. Considering the reviews online, we decided to order slowly. Ordered Chicken do-pyaza spicy. First of all, what we received was nothing close to chicken do - pyaza , instead their own special creation. Full of chilli flakes to make it spicy and raw turmeric taste. They had their specials for the day written all over the restaurant wall. We asked what the curries would be like before we could order, but didn't receive any appealing answers. Decided to skip the specials as well. Roti was roti, nothing good or bad about it. Won't mind re-visiting again when I am in a hurry and none of the restaurants around are open that late. Service is undoubtedly fast. One extra star for free papadums.
Look at the colour of the butter chicken, it looks like something that I would get back in India. But the flavours are good. I would recommend this place. Service of the staff is below average but it's all about the food!!!!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetation options it's indian food!!! Parking: Hard place to find parking! Wheelchair accessibility: NO!
Actually I'm not sure what is the authentic Indian food. But the roti, naan korma and butter chicken in this shop are all good. The price is reasonable and the vibe feels local.
The lady that served me was so rude, it almost felt like I shouldn't be there. The entire ordering process was uncomfortable because she just looked like she was being forced to be there. The table I was told to sit at was dirty. After my food arrived, I asked for a take away container as I just didn't want to eat. there anymore. She gave me one container, which could only fit my rice and bread. I went to th counter to pay and asked for a second container, she glares at me and asks ever so rudely "FOR WHAT?!" .. FIRSTLY... I don't need to explain for it if I'm paying for it. Regardless, I told her "for my veg vindaloo. All the food can't fit in one container" ... She then drags her feet to go get the container like it's the biggest burden she's dealt with that day. This was such a strange experience but I remained polite throughout all interactions. My advice is to train your workers to do better, as they are the first point of contact and have an impact on how the rest of the time at the restaurant unfolds for customers. The food was actually quite good, unfortunately the service was so bad, I will never be coming back.
This place has been getting bad reviews due to the rather cold service, but if you put that aside, the curries are tasty and the bathora is really good. Service could be friendlier though. Rotis are good too with reasonable pricing
Decent food, was fresh and tasty and good portion size , always busy Vegetarian options: Yes heaps
Food quality is good but staff doesn’t make customers feel welcoming. They seems rude. We like this place but mostly avoid because of their treatment towards their customers
