Ramen is not easy to find around Clayton area, so $15 for a bowl of ramen here is quite nice. However, my visit to this restaurant on 22nd Jan 2023 was not extremely pleasant. There was only one staff working there and he looked super angry for some reason like customers owed him money or something. Not outright rude or anything but just really unfriendly. Unhappy to be working on CNY maybe? idk. But thankfully the ramen preparation process is so straightforward even the most disgruntled employee cannot possibly mess it up.
I came to Jyu Jyu Japanese Take Away in Clayton, on a Wednesday afternoon, for some Japanese lunch. I ordered the Niku Udon; it was served quickly and was very delicious. Thank you Jyu Jyu for the yummy Japanese food!
Small little Japanese restaurant in Clayton, has a few dishes available. Though ordering sushi hand rolls is almost impossible as they are made to order and if you order you have to buy the whole two hand rolled, so very limited from a variety meal perspective
Ordered the Sukiyaki Tamago Don and it tastes as bad as it looks. The beef is so dark that it looks like it has been sitting outside for 2 hours and I know it can't be the delivery drivers fault because I live just down the road. The sauce they use is so sweet it's sickening. Ate about three bites and had to throw it out. Disgraceful. The only reason This get's any stars is cause the coke they gave me was able to wash down the awful taste.
We had katsu don with potato croquet, it was meant to have a curry sauce, it was more a gravy and not tasty. I had sashimi and it was very dry, had one piece and chucked it
Ramen was average, it wasn't terrible but I found it bland and lacked that unami taste from a good broth. The flavour of the croquettes and tempura veggies tasted better and fried fresh. Pricing is reasonable but I would pay more for a better tasting ramen.
First time trying! Turns out it's very good for the value. Update: 5 years later I ordered from them again, this time the gyutandon. Was a bit disappointed because they cooked it like yakiniku. Doesn't have enough smoky flavour and the onion/sauce make it too sweet.
Phone order to take away a sashimi bento for $14 was good plus no surcharge on card payment and friendly staff,I would recommend it
Food is good but when I ask for a tax invoice didn't provide me one just an eftpos receipt. The rude guy making the sushi told me that's the tax invoice. What a muppet! Never again!
Probably one of the worst ramens and bento’s we have had in Melbourne and not for a cheap price either. Place is clean, run well but the food just isn’t great. The ramen was over cooked, lack depth of flavour. The chicken in the bento was just plain and average, no real flavour or crunch. The gyoza tasted as if they were just frozen and cooked up. No soy sauce was offered. Avoid - plenty of other options in Clayton for good food.
