A real hit and miss place. Highly inconsistent. Been here a handful of times. But when they are on their game you have definitely gonna have a great Indian meal. Tandoori platter was not so great. Veg Manchurian , fried rice and biryani one of the few dishes that have been fairly consistent and nice. Chicken 65 highly inconsistent flavours and textures . Recently tried their methi chicken which I actually enjoyed tremendously but this was also the first time I ordered it … Understandably their prices have also gone up in this but now I can’t justify going here anymore due to the inconsistency.
Ambiance was not good, not sure what was stinking as soon as we walked in. Food taste was good. Service is okay, staff is not proactive, you have to ask them. No greetings or pointing to the table. Deserts were not good, we tried Gajar halva and pista kulfi but both were tasting different. Overall experience was okay
Very nice. The food is so delicious.. usually I cannot eat a lot.. But the Biryani I ordered was so good and I couldn't stop eating.. That was big enough for a single person who eat a lot.. worth for what you pay.. Definitely will go there again..
Poor service, the food was not even served together order two dishes and one came 10 mins late and by the time naans were cold food used to be good but not anymore. Presentation of the food was terrible.

Bad tasting food and really bad hygiene.curry tasted and looked like tomato paste. Eat out a lot and this is the worst experience i had in a long time. Restaurant was really dirty, staff did not wear gloves while cleaning tables or handling food.
I have been eating at this restaurant for years. It used to be good but today I had the worst experience. I ordered indo chinese and the flavours were far from indo-chinese food. Earlier it used to be very authentic but today chicken noodles had a very raw taste of egg, manchurian was just manchurian balls mixed with tomato ketchup and chilli paneer felt like kadhayi paneer. Taste is worse than what it looks like. Would not be giving another chance.
Not the best of the experiences. I’ve visited other dosa huts that are spread across Melbourne over the last few years but I was in for a disappointment on this visit. We had ordered Chilly Chicken and Seekh Kebab for the appetisers and both were not up to the mark. We’ve had chilly chicken from this place before and it was really good. Sadly, the same cannot be said this time. Was oily and some pieces felt really dry. The kebab was dry, felt almost as if the kebabs were kept prepared in advance or were frozen, microwaved or reheated a number of times. The meat was not juicy or tender as you would usually get in this kebab and the outer layer was chewy and rubbery. Was one of the most critical kebabs that I’ve ever eaten. Probably a good idea to stick to dosas and biryanis if you visit the Dosa Hut. The dosas were really good though. The paneer spring dosa specially was very well prepared. The masala dosa was good as well. The chutneys were nice and a good zing to them. The sambar was nicely spiced and hot.
First time dining here and happy to say it was a pleasant experience. The portions here are huge so you’ll definitely get value for money here. I got the chef special 70mm dosa and that is an entree, main and dessert wrapped in one. Worth trying as you get 4 different fillings, unfortunately I was unable to finish despite a valiant effort. The tandoori chicken though was rather dry and bland; a disappointment. Also the toilets could be better maintained.
This is coming from a person who hasn't had too much authentic Indian food to compare BUT This place does very good standard Indian. THE restaurant that made me fall in love with Indian food. Great ... butter chicken, crispy af dosa, lamb-something lol and my favourite, butterscotch icecream.. it's a bit powdery .. which is normal? but I like that.
