Enigma on The Esplanade is the latest hospitality venture for Emmanuel and Mary Koutris, owners of Whitianga's popular Al Camino restaurant.
Having secured the lease on the waterfront premises on the corner of Mill Road and The Esplanade, they're taking the plunge with something a little different.
Enigma on The Esplanade is open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner and all day Saturday and Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as coffee and cabinet food.
Breakfast features Kiwi favourites such as bacon and eggs, while Pacific Rim cuisine is served at lunch and dinner.
Oysters are a big feature on the menu, together with scotch fillet, pork cutlets, tuna steak, tiger prawns, mussels, fresh fish and good quality vegetarian options.
The restaurant has a very good pizza oven and five or six wood-fired pizzas are also on the menu too.
