AHPRA makes arbitrary or biased decisions. They make a general announcement that it has considered all the relevant evidence and reached a conclusion based on that evidence, even when the evidence does not support the conclusion.
Don’t even bother raising any kind of concern with this organisation, there is a severe lack of communication from the complaint handlers, my experience is they only want to close your complaint while making out their investigation was as per policy standards, their website, policies and the way they state they investigate is by no means a true reflection of what they actually do here, as I stated lack of communication from the investigation team and evidence provided proving the claims of the doctors conduct in the form of court documents apparently is not enough evidence for ahpra to take action and according to complaints officer Paul this is all acceptable as per their policies and he does not see any problem with anything UPDATE Ombudsman got involved in regards to inappropriate closure of the complaint, almost immediately ahpra back flipped on their closure and found documentation provided was infact adequate despite their assessment and in house investigator Paul stating otherwise, went to the board but they took no further action and didn’t explain how breaking patient confidentiality is apparently ok according to them so currently sits back with the ombudsman as ahpra and Paul refuse to explain their finding properly
It would be easy to recommend that you don't make a complaint through this criminally negligent organisation that protects doctors interests. However, it is important that, even though AHPRA lacks objectivity or investigative competence, that medical malpractice is documented. Hopefully in the future competent staff will be appointed, or even this rotten to the core defender of doctors replaced with an organisation interested in balancing the protection of the public against it's current unwritten primary goal of protecting medical practitioners. Just be prepared that it appears no substantive investigation will result from your complaint unless you are actually a medical practitioner complaining about another medical practitioner. Do not expect this organisation to show the slightest humanity in their dealings with you or any concept of natural justice in it's methods. I suggest you Google AHPRA and ABC to see for yourself how this organisation operates.
