Abacus Bar & Kitchen, South Yarra - 4.1 out of 5.nnThe place to BE on a Friday night. $28 bottomless pasta at Abacus in South Yarra. It’s so rare to see a Friday deal this good, so I was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the bottomless set up here, everyone gets an individual plate and gets to try each of the 4 options.nnThe options were quite interesting which I liked!! Made it interesting. The pastas included were:nCavatelli pasta with mushroom ragunRigatoni pasta with squid ink pangratattonPaccheri pasta with prawns, confit tomatoes and braised tomato saucenCavatelli pasta with slow cooked Angus beef and ndujannThe mushroom was my favourite hands down, so flavourful! The slow cooked beef was quite rich, so I’m glad I got to have it on a small plate rather than a while serving. Overall LOVED how we got to try a bit of each because I love sharing multiple meals with others, but this way all the pasta was warm and we didn’t have to worry about splitting the pasta off serving plates. The bottomless is designed to try each type of pasta, and then order more of the ones you like most we didn’t get to this because we were too full but I do like this option.nnWe also tried the house made focaccia with kelp butter. We were unsure about the kelp butter, not my favourite I’ve ever had as it was a weird flavour.nnOverall 4.1 out of 5.
Great flavours, portion sizes, and service. All staffs were very sweet and hospitable. Sous vide octopus lacked a bit of flavour and was tough to chew, but squid ink linguine was absolutely delicious. Would visit again for the pasta!nnRevisit after 2 weeks: Came back for the bottomless pasta after enjoying their regular menu, but the food this time was just average. Still, I liked that I got to try different options for a good deal!nnHowever, the experience was let down by the heat—it was over 30 degrees, and they didn’t have the AC on. I was sweating while eating and ended up leaving before trying the last pasta out of disappointment.nnStaff service was exceptional though. Our server was incredibly attentive, making sure we were ready for the next dish and checking in to see how she could help us feel more comfortable.
I went here for the $28 bottomless pasta night and absolutely loved it! It was such great value for money and the options were amazing. My favourites were the mushroom pasta and the prawn pasta.nnI really love the vibe and ambience of this place too. It’s such a great option not only for dinner but also for brunch or lunch!
Went to Abacus for my birthday and again for a date night — both nights were absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was amazing every time. Highly recommend!
Food : The food is very tasty and beautifully presented. The menu option could be better for more selection. Drink menu is awesome with lot of variety and options.nnService : Customers service is absolutely amazing. The staff is so friendly and always with a beautiful smile and professional. Super attentive and no rush.nnAmbience: The restaurant is so beautifully decorated and feels warm and comfortable. Tables are spaced out beautifully, inside and outside areas to sit with different table settings.nnOverall: I also visit abacus for my morning breakfast whenever I visit Melbourne. Beautiful staff and you feel welcomed.
