A Tavola, Darlinghurst; the original A Tavola restaurant, established in 2007 by chef and owner - Eugenio Maiale.

A Tavola quickly become one of Sydney's best restaurants known for its authentic Italian pasta.

The long, communal, marble table is filled with loyal and regular diners – all seduced by the simplicity and honesty of Eugenio’s food and especially his love of good pasta. He welcomes you to his table.

The place is nice, it has two floors, I recommend making a reservation. The service is very good, they are very attentive to the customer and offer a good experience. The price of each dish is medium to high, therefore I am surprised that the menu is only a sheet of paper so you have to check their Instagram which has few current photos of the menu, which personally made it difficult for me to choose. the menu does not have a detail of whether the dishes are vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. if you are vegan or vegetarian the options are limited to olives, burrata or beetroot tortellini that does not have any sauce. the range of wines is good. The atmosphere is nice. I consider that for an experience it is good but I don't know if I would make this a regular place or return.
Divine cuisine paired with excellent wines and cocktails. A beautiful ambiance at the back of the restaurant plus a communal long dining table at the entrance. The Burrata and Octopus were divine and the salads fresh and loaded with flavour. Most of the table enjoyed the delicious beef paradelle with everything cooked to perfection. Unexpectedly, their focaccia was the best I’ve ever had - so fresh and melt in your mouth. A great spot for a date or business dinner but perhaps not the right ambiance for spirited celebration.
Consistently good food and service. The menu isn’t very big but what is on offer is made perfectly and tastes incredible. Ambience is very good as is the wine list
The pastas are delicious and clearly all made in the kitchen. Simple but really tasty. The prices are certainly up there and service is fine.
Great Italian cuisine in a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. The pappardelle, amatriciana, bistecca, burrata, and salad were well paired with the wine they recommended as an alternative to our original choice. The bistecca was a clear favourite for me, I’ve never seen a T-bone cooked rare where the meat peels off the bone easily. The red wine jus and mustard are a delightful pairing, and it was a pleasant surprise that it was served already cut into small portions for sharing. Would easily recommend this restaurant to anybody!
Very cute vibe, pasta portions were really big! Pasta itself was ok, liked the beef wagyu pappardelle the most and how thin it was! Prosciutto good
Absolutely loved this place! Pasta was beautiful - and we couldn’t get enough of their house baked focaccia. Dont skip the dessert, its so fluffy and tangy! Highly recommend
Everything was moreish & the ambience is lovely. Had a wonderful meal here with two girlfriends & I felt like I was back in Europe, in an understated little neighbourhood bistro oozing with effortless character. Came for the pasta & was not disappointed. Wines we had were spot on. Service was helpful & friendly. Could easily sit there for hours with a bottle of wine & chat the night away. Will be back!
Great vibe, staff very attentive and really know their stuff. Very cool decor and ambience. The food is good but not outstanding. The starters were diverse and enjoyable but basic. The mains were oversized and the flavour fusion didn’t quite work. The chocolate cup dessert is amazing
A Tavola was a fine dining experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. The service was very friendly. The staff were incredibly helpful in explaining the menu which is like reading a foreign language and making recommendations on what to order. The food was so delicious. Every dish that was ordered was mouth-watering and of a superior quality. The wine selection was also amazing! The restaurant has a lovely ambience which lends itself for a special occasion or a date night. Proving just how popular this place is, it is recommended that you book a month in advance! I'd definitely be keen to come back!
