Authentic, delicious and affordable Malaysian cuisine. We tried the char koay teow, mee goreng and curry laksa. Great wok hay taste and delicious. Can get busy so be prepared for longer wait times or order in advanced.
Great place to get takeaways. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. I've tried a lot of places but I would have to say the fried rice and mee groeng was the best I've had so far. Simple and delicious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is portion size is smaller when compared to other Chinese restaurants, but overall good food and service. Parking can be difficult to find in front of the shop especially on weekends, best to park off street and walk to the restaurant.
Yummy Kitchen is known for creating dishes with love. The queen of soul food! The owners are super kind hearted and they let their mouth-watering food speak for itself. Their vegan dishes are my favourite. I’m obsessed! My partner and I first tried their food back in 2018 and it brings back the same WOW feeling we had the first time we ate there every time we order. #unmatched #foodcoma #thebesthiddengem
I think giving him one star is too much. Terrible meal, today my husband and me went for dinner, looked at the pictures on the wall so ordered a Hokkien fried noodle. The [Hokkien Fried Noodles] served by the boss turned out to be a large bowl of “black soup” with dark soy sauce. There were short 2-3 cm noodles in small strips, two small shrimps were added, and the noodles were sandwiched with chopsticks. I can eat it in small pieces, but I can’t see a complete piece of noodles. It seems to be leftovers from others. I asked the boss why it was different from the photos of fried noodles on the wall. He actually replied that we all sell it like this, because The taste was really unbearable, and in the end we had to admit that we were unlucky and left hungry. Is this a slaughter house? we would never go to there again.
Update: went again after a long time being away and it’s just as good as I remember. We had the laksa and it was so flavoursome. The staff were so lovely and food was just the right amount of spice. This is an under-rated little gem of a restaurant. It is nothing flash and lacking in decor, but the food is top-notch, cheap with large portions. Service is fast and I never regret stopping by.
Quant little place, relaxed dining, the owners are really polite and lovely. My favourite meal is the Vegetarian Sambal Chicken, it's my go-to and don't really order anything else because I love it so much! Recommended place for authentic Malay food :-
I ordered Malaysian Laksa noodles, rice menu and sweet &sour pork. They ads that it's Malaysian cuisine but the laksa tasted like weird mix of coconut and chinese spices. I really like Malaysian laksa so I know what that is. And the other foods also were bland and no flavors at all. How disappointing
After eating at various 'western' diners the first 2 days in Manukau, we were craving for some flavors of home ok Malaysia is not my home but the food is close enough. Finally found this diner thru Google maps. First time here I ordered the Malay Curry Beef Brisket Rice and Malaysian Wat Dan Hor. The curry beef in particular was amazing. Wife was gushing over the Hor Fun saying it's better than any zichar Hor Fun she had eaten in Singapore. Oh and the owner also served us hot Chinese tea which "saved our lives" on that frigid day. First time eating such legit Malaysian dishes in Auckland. We came back here the next day and tried the Char Kway Teow and Rendang Chicken on Rice. Both were awesome as expected. Will definitely come back again if I ever come back to Manukau.
I often visit my parents in Auckland, dad knows a lot of good Malaysian food spots in Auckland. He took me to this one and said hands down best char kuey teow in Auckland. Food was great, even had a bit of my mums chicken rice! The chili they use there definitely has a kick so be wary! Overall a quite satisfying meal before heading off to the airport. Highly recommended
I came here due to the nice reviews stated. I went with some good expectation and left with horrible experience. The restaurant itself has only 5 tables, like the size of your bedroom. You can smell the smoke from kitchen as the ventilation is bad. We ordered and it took us at least 30 minutes, when there is only a table before us. So if the food is nice, it's worth the wait, isn't it. We got char kuey teow and others. Char Kuey Teow ended up being too spicy, all you taste is chilli. Their chilli is spicy, if you have a nose block, you can order it to unblock your nose. It's basically a red color flat char kuey teow, no where close to Penang kind. it's flat, no wok hei, just flat. Something you can cook at home too. Their prawn portion is generous, that's one star for it. 16.90 for it? Please top up 5 dollar extra and go to high end nicely decorated Ippudo restaurant and try their ramen at 21 dollar. The setting really looks like a back end kitchen with tables brought from home. Owner is too lazy to spend money to renovate nor to fix the air ventilation. You leave with stinky clothes. I would never go there again, Bunga Raya restaurant is still the better place to go. If any of you can provide some good Malaysian restaurants, please let me know. I don't want fake reviews, just pure good Malaysian food. Thanks.
