A good evening ruined by the staff not allowing me to take home an unfinished bottle of wine - I did not want to drink more than my allowance for driving and asked to take the remainder back to my RV to finish later in the evening with my wife . Google said this is legal in NZ but the staff refused to let me. Ridiculous and a sad end to a good evening

My mum and I visited on Sunday following seeing some really good reviews online. When we arrived the place was dead quiet - we would've been more understanding if they were busy. When we went to order we were advised that there were a number of salads unavailable and the ones they did have were missing aspects avocado on the bean salad. We decided to still ordered the bean salad and accepted that there would be no avo, we also ordered a Ceasar salad and added prawns and a bruschetta.nnWhen the food arrived we got the salads first and discovered the following:n- the Ceasar salad had a total of 7 croutons, all of which were stale and soggyn- having paid extra for prawns, there for only 3 for $8n- the Parmesan was congealed, hard and dryn- the spicy bean salad was merely spinach, tinned beans and tinned corn. It was missing the red onion, coriander, feta, as well as the already missing avocadon- the bruschetta was the only real edible option, but even that was lacking tomato or the ricotta/ basil whip, so was disappointing too.nnWe raised all of this with your waitstaff who apologised and offered to have feta added to the bean salad; which should’ve already been there. We declined as we had run out of time to wait for a reorder.nnWe once again raised our disappointment and concern when paying, but our comments were not even acknowledged - instead the bartender just glared at us. Our total bill was nearly $80 for two people for food that was missing items, below average, and very disappointing.nnI have since tried contacting the owner/manager twice and heard nothing back. I would say trust the bad reviews, and look at how defensive they are in response to those reviews, yet they won’t address it directly either. Avoid.

I frequent a lot of craft beer bars in Auckland, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a great little place to stop in for a quiet brew on our trip to Mangawhai today.nnThe beer selection was excellent, the owner was behind the bar and his knowledge of craft beer was on point. Super friendly guy too - we had a good chat about different beers and everything from bars in Auckland to where we get our haircuts!nnThe staff who served us were fantastic - always checking in to see if we had everything we needed, and whether they could get us something else. Super friendly and conversational.nnThe bar even comes with its own mascot - a dog with a lovely demeanour who came to visit our table a few times and check in to see how we were going.nnI cannot recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back when we're next in Mangawhai.

The Best ever Place i have visited up till now in Nz. They have an amazing ambience, very friendly service and the most flavoursome food.nnFirst time we tried their chicken wings and burgers. Both of them super delicious. Then we again visited with our family and some friends for a get together and everyone loved every thing we ordered.nnStay Amazing guys

This restaurant is very popular during peak seasons and often run out of seating, so be sure to make a booking to secure you a table Great beers, food, service and atmosphere, this restaurant is always vibing. Highly recommended
