Mangawhai Tavern

Great to have the tavern in the village, very relaxed atmosphere, plenty of space indoors and outdoors. Love the fish and chips can be made pan fried and now breakfast available during the weekend too. Incredible venue, great quality food and friendly staff. The views from the outdoor area are phenomenal and there is a different type of space for every kind of patron. There is even a little playground and the outdoor area is dog friendly.

Very traditional tavern. Comfy food and drinks. Nice market next to and hight tide the view is great. Not very special for us but thanks for the mushroom taco’s and the vegie burger. Appreciate investing on vegie stuff.

Very ordinary experience if I’m honest - nachos were big but had fake cheese on them. For $31 that is ridiculous, this is NZ not America… long wait for the food too and wasn’t even busy maybe 15-20 people therenPlace was also super tired and gave big sticky floor vibes. Service was good though, probably won’t be back.

What a fantastic place to be. Stunning views. Our lunch was lovely very fresh fish. We ordered a kids meal and the servings were more than enough. The customer service was outstanding along with the very reasonable prices. Definitely be going back.
