Weta Workshop

There were lots of things we couldn't take pictures of, so I'll share the cool replicas in the gift shop. While my partner adored this experience, after having done the Wētā Workshop Unleashed in Auckland, this was a little less interactive and interesting for me. It was very cool to see memorabilia from various films and hear the inside scoop, it seemed like it was a little tired and lower budget than the Auckland one. However if you're a film buff, this is definitely cool!

I did the base guided tour.nPretty worth it. I've always loved doing costume props and sets and model making; all that movie magic stuff, and Wētā Workshop just has so much heart and soul of that in everyone who works there.nThe tour guides are themselves people who have gotten their hands dirty in movie work.nnWheelchair accessibility:nNo stairs. You needa go through the sidewalk a bit before it starts which is a bit bumpy and narrow at points, but overall wheelchair access level is acceptable.

Everything was fantastic. Logan was an excellent guide. There was so much to see and everything was really well laid out. There's the opportunity to see screen used items, the process for things being made, and for some hands-on crafting too.

Absolute must see for those traveling in Wellington! While their breakout was helping with the Lord of the Rings movies, they have assisted in over 130 movies now! They are pretty strict on photos, so these are some of the ones I can share.nnThe tour is worth it. 90 minutes and you get to see and touch some of the props used. Id you are a movie buff or LOTR fan, then this is for you.

The tour was fantastic. There aren't many rooms to visit, but some are incredible. The visit was interesting because it was interactive, there are moments that it seems like a real workshop. The moments when you can interact with the objects created by the Weta artists were very beautiful! The guide was super: she involved the group and you could see that she was passionate and enthusiastic. Her name was Kiki and we would like to follow her or contact her on social media to thank her! Would it be possible? Beautiful experience, well done!
