No, just don't.nnLook, I appreciate it may feel personnel when you've waited for 9½ hours to get seen for very serious symptoms, and then are overlooked due to lack of, and overworked staff.nHowever it really isn't the staff's fault, from what I gather, it's primarily the council's followed by Mayor Tory.nFrom having read reports over the last 2 years, I gather that she has just had far too much personal struggle to properly focus on the requirements of Wellington, and its needs.nIf Wellingtonians wish to see changes made, then we need to rethink who we collectively push for running the state.nThis is not a personal attack on Mayor Tory, as I believe she has had nothing but the best of intentions when it comes to running the city and outer suburbs.nIt is just an unfortunate reality that the last 5 years have been tough on anyone, and good intentions are stretched far too thin by the challenging reality many have been presented with.nHaving read the review left by the woman who's sister took her own life, having been failed to get seen by the A&E department, I believe the situation is relatively severe. But change can only be made at the core root of an issue.nSo if you're reading this with the intention of writing a critical review of the Emergency Department, please consider that more than a review, your opinion as a Wellingtonian is what matters, and it takes the majority of public opinion to persuade change.nGoodluck.
I have been waiting for 7hrs in pain and still need wait. No one know how long should I wait more to see a doctor. Just pamol and vital checking were repeated. NZ health system especially in ED is really awful!!!!!
9 hour wait, 1 dose of painkillers. Did bloods 7 hours ago so surely they have results back from that but still no information on bloods.nRemaining patient and totally understand the staff are busy but if you’ve been here longer than 6 hours at least you could keep people informed about how much longer the wait might be.nMost people would appreciate and understand if they were updated after a 6 hour plus wait.nArrived 4:45pm Friday 5/7/24 for significant unexplained amount of blood loss- still waiting at 1:21am Saturday morning.
I also would give this place zero stars if I could. I understand that it’s understaffed, but after being advised to get to the A&E as soon as possible, I was disappointed to wait over five hours in excruciating pain and not be seen by a DR, just isn't good enough. Losing the function of a leg seems like it should be a priority, but it it seems like a cough that could be addressed by a GP was more important. So back to square one, and more frustration. 10/10 would NOT recommend unless you're literally dying, even then probably no luck..
I'd give zero stars if I could. After waiting 6 hours at Kenepuru before being told, cant do anything, go to Wellington, its then another 6 hours waiting when you get to Wellington, just to get an initial look by a doctor, and then another 6+ hours to wait for a CT. My elderly mother has now been at kenepuru and then wellington for nearly 20 hours, and still no outcome/diagnosis/treatment. What an effing shambles. Absolutely third world service. What a shameful way to treat your elders.
