Waitangi Park

Waitangi parkrun was great so many friendly people- a fab 2 lap 5k run around the quays - we really enjoyed our time there

The work the council have done around the park meaning up the trees and shrubs have taken what used to be a pretty dodgy feeling area and breathed new life into it it feels a lot safer and nicer, and this can be evident in the increase in people and families using it now! great work! Plus the scenery of the harbor and river mouth are much more visible, which is a great view

Nice open space in the heart of the city, popular with picnickers, skateboarders and taylor made for concerts or impromptu celebrations.

There are so many events that have been held in this park. Good for big crowds and entertainments. Yesterday was a festival and lots of people enjoyed the environment and lots had picnic there on the ground and listened to the music's and watched entertainments. Close by, is the skateboard park and opposite the New World supermarket. On the other side is the waterfront, and you can enjoy the walk around along the waterfront, and you can pop in to see our Te Papa museum along the way, and much more to see further down the way.

Had to work there all day. Accessible restrooms, cafes, and lunches available within 75 m. A New World 5 min walk away. Expensive parking- $35 for all day in the metered lot. Takes credit cards with pay wave, at least.
