We did the walk down to the Fish Ladder waterfall such an underrated spot! Can't believe we haven't been before. Track is narrow and steep in parts but clear all the way down. Parking is essentially nonexistent at the top, there is one bay and today it had mounds of gravel in it, be prepared to park on the typical Wellington narrow road.
The walk itself is lovely but the dog owners that walk it are incredibly irresponsible. We walked our recently adopted dog who usually wants to play with all dogs he meets and he got attacked by 2 black Labradors and a little schnauzer. Probably completely undone his lovely nature because of irresponsible dog owners. Don't take your dog here if you want to keep them safe.
Incredible off-leash dog walking tracks, the water and stream is gorgeous! Lots to see! Lots of spots to acess the water for dogs to drink, or dogs who enjoy swimming. Lots if other dogs walking and all very friendly encounters. It's definitely not a mild track imo, very steep in sections. I wouldn't recommend the downhill paths if you have funny knees. But it's absolutely worth checking out. Iv only explored a couple paths myself and there is more to explore yet.
A favourite place to walk our two dogs!! The Park is on the outskirts of the CBD but you feel like you're in a forest far away. A bonus for us is the stream running through the park which is easily accessible for the dogs to splash around in.
Stunning, easy walk - and it feels as though it's much more remote than it actually is!
