I was sent by my GP to Emergency Department Wednesday 4 March 2026. From the moment I saw receptionist at ED to meeting with Dr Joshua Rogers in Acute medical unit to having tests, CT scan and then again meeting with Dr Josh Rogers I could not have been treated more professionally. Everyone was absolutely amazing.. The staff, service and attention I received was incredible.nI want to say thank you so much to the nurses and Dr Josh Rogers for the care I received.nYou are all very special, thank you so much.nWarmest regardsnKathleen DaynMatamata
After nearly a year on the waiting list, I finally underwent laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis on January 15, 2026. This has been such a remarkable journey for me, and I finally feel a new sense of hope for my life.nnI want to express my deepest thanks to Dr. Pip Walker and her exceptional team, the anesthesiologist, the nurses, and all the staff at Waikato Hospital. I felt incredibly well cared for throughout my stay. The facility was spotless, the food was great, and the entire experience was seamless.nnI am especially grateful for the comprehensive care provided by Dr. Walker. She went above and beyond by referring me to my GP for aftercare and to a fertility specialist for my pregnancy journey. Whether that journey leads to pregnancy or not, I feel so supported and empowered to get my life back on track.nnThank you, Waikato Hospital, for the amazing work you do. You are making a real difference in patients' lives!
I cannot speak more highly about my experience last week at the hospital. I went there thinking I had had a mini stroke. Given the bad press that Waikato has had recently I was impressed how everyone sitting in the emergency department was seen in turn for attention more than once. It was a well run machine. I was given a Ct scan and then spoken to by doctors who had discussed my case and had good news for me. I spent the night there in Acute services and the care, respect and medical expertise I received was amazing. I am very grateful for the follow up tests that were organized for me and hope that Dr Govinden and his young team get the results given to them so they can get a positive outcome for their good work. I have every confidence in him and am sure it will be a good outcome for me. Thank you. Lynn
To all the Staff at OPR 5, thank you.nTo all the nurses who cared for me, your care was exemplary, thank you.nTo Dr Roshun and Dr Aditi Gunjal, the thoroughness with which you systematically eliminated potential causes one after the other was heartening and reassuring to me that I was in safe hands. My out of zone medical family members were also impressed with your decision making on the issues. Thank you so much.nWe were also impressed with the wider hospital staff from orderlies to the cleaners, meal ladies and the receptionists. You were all caring and helpful. Big ‘ups’ for Waikato Public Hospital.nCathy Houlbrooke
I recently had a visit to the emergency department for my gallbladder and liver, and I have to say I received the best treatment throughout every ward I was on. I went through emergency, short stay, was an outlier on thoracic and cardio from surgery, and then had my gallbladder removed and then went home the next day with almost no pain. The staff from the tea ladies, HCAs, nurses, doctors, surgeons and the anaesthesiologist and whole theatre team were phenomenal. I presented on Tuesday, and left by Friday. Honestly, I cannot thank them all enough. And then! My young daughter presented to the children’s Ed, and they were so accommodating the doctor we got even spoke French. It was amazing. I felt even though I’m an immigrant, I was truly respected.
