Two Little Fish

Nice chips, one of the better fish and chip shops in Tahuna. Small portions for the high prices though. Picture shows $7 fish being a couple bites worth.

We ordered fish & chips last Saturday. We were very impressed how the fish & chips were cooked. The chips were nicely drained & the Gurnard fillets were perfectly cooked. And they also gave us an extra piece of fish.

I hate writing a negative review but I’m pretty disappointed here. Chips are frozen oven chips and not the best, tiny scoops. I thought there was some sort of mistake with the fish but looking at other photos it appears that’s the size - asked for 3 and received what I would consider 1 portion. Fish tasted great, just a shame there was next to none of it. $37 and we’re still hungry, won’t be going there again. Small feed, high price

Disappointing experience for three reasons.nnFirstly order over the phone was really hard as they wre struggling to understand what the order was and so had to repeat multiple times. In the end the order was still wrong with extra things that we didn't want and missing some things we did want. We ended up being charged for extra cheese that we didnt want and the burger came out with NO cheese!nSecondly was told about 15-20min where in fact it took over 30mins.nLastly once we actually got the food it wasn't that great at all. The burger had old bread, was bland and used chicken nugget like things. Kumara chips were overcooked and some were quite burnt.nnOverall for a $36 meal it was a let down. Seems like maybe staffing problems or they are just too busy and can't maintain the quality fish and chips they seem to be known for.

Love their lovely cooked battered gurnard, always fresh and juicy. And mostly their chips are spot on. The serving size is ok for us, but hungrier people may find it a bit wanting.We have been customers of Two Little Fish for 7 years now and order maybe twice a month. They really are beautiful fish and chips mostly. Our only beef excuse the pun as it’s a seafood outlet is their phone system! When phoning up with our order, it’s a real lottery whether they pick up or not! I know they are a busy, but you have to be really patient to get through if you want to phone your order before pickup.
