McCashin's Tap Room

My family was welcomed as soon as we entered. The woman behind the bar even took time to greet my 2 year old daughter, as well. She patiently explained the beer and food options, and we never felt rushed.nnThe food came quickly. It was normal pub fare with a McCashin's twist - nothing to write home about, but good quality and filling. We had the margarita pizza and 'special wedges,' which were cheesy potato wedges with a sweet sauce.nnThe beer was smooth and very sessionable. Although there were no big-hop, bitter bombs that I have been accustomed to and prefer, it was a treat to try the locally grown Nelson hop varieties and styles.nnThey have a full bar and several non-alcoholic options.nnThe atmosphere was family friendly with a kids' play area and hip with contemporary music playing. I especially loved the dry hops hanging from the ceiling and my wife loved all of the fun beer puns on the signage.

McCashins was the perfect location to have as our week long Nelson based event. The outdoor area made for a great BBQ area, inside facilities included screens, microphone and stage.nDaily morning briefings were enhanced by good coffee and food. The Prize Giving evening food and atmosphere was plentiful and tasty.nBut most noticeable of all were the owners and staff who were very accommodating and friendly and went the extra distance that made for a perfect venue.

Love this bar but first time trying there meals, my tacos came out cold and my little girls fish said on the menu crumbed kids fish bites and came out battered.. wish restaurants would serve kids good health options everywhere you go seem to be just chips/ battered fish or nuggets/ pizza or burger not anything health or nutritional.nnLove the place though and great outside space.

Great team at McCashins! Service but all staff that interacted with us was excellent! So friendly and welcoming. Great beer garden with lots of activities for the kids.

Great spot to catch up with friends. Staff were very friendly. Great selection of food and drinks. The taco and chowder was amazing.
