Stayed in an older style unit that is on the list to renovate, however it was a wonderful stay, plenty of room, comfortable beds, clean unit and well supplied. Super friendly and helpful receptionist. Am only sorry we stayed one night would have liked a longer stay to use the facilities. Recommended for holiday stay.
Stayed here on our first family holiday since welcoming our new baby, who is now six months old. Travelling with a three-year-old and a baby can be pretty full on, but our stay here was the perfect stopover. It was so good we ended up booking another night on the way home.nnThe rooms were exceptional, the facilities were great, and the service was top-notch. If you’re thinking of stopping in Tūrangi, we highly recommend booking with Sarah at Tūrangi Leisure Lodge.nnThe place was clean, well maintained, welcoming, and super accommodating. What more could you ask for?
Absolutely terrible experience. I contacted the property to cancel my booking due to multiple serious issues. There are currently severe wildfires at Tongariro National Park, and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing — the main reason many people stay in Turangi — has been closed with shuttle services cancelled. On top of that, I suffered a medical emergency torn meniscus and provided hospital documentation confirming I was unable to hike.nDespite these genuine and unavoidable circumstances, the hotel refused to offer a refund, partial credit, or even a flexible cancellation. Their response was simply, “we have other hikes you can walk at.” This was completely unreasonable and dismissive given the situation.nI’m very disappointed in the lack of empathy and flexibility. Even natural disasters and medical emergencies won’t prompt this property to assist you in any way. Would not recommend — 0/10.
I had the best stay at Turangi Leisure Lodge. The “rooms” are actually fully equipped flats, they are clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable. There is a spa you can book to make it private. The staff is lovely. Thanks again, everything was perfect!
Our whānau of 22 stayed for 3 nights 6 rooms, over the long weekend and it was beautiful had everything we could of possibly needed, out tamariki had the best days and we had a few beersies at night, home away from home with stunning scenery 10/10
