Stayed here last night on our way to south island. Beautiful little motel, friendly host, immaculately clean, room had such a cozy feel and well laid out. Bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in. Neat little deck to sit and have a morning coffee. A wee gem, could have happily stayed for a week. We will absolutely be stopping in on our next trip north.
Upon arrival, I found a nail on the bedsheet, a strong unpleasant odor despite ventilation, and stained toilet and carpet. The room didn’t meet the price I paid. All rooms should be renovated to the same standard, as I felt the other rooms were in better condition. Additionally, the housekeeping service was odd—towels were replaced, but no proper room cleaning was done. The shower filter was disgusting, and there was mold in the shower.nnI didn't appeal complaint during my stay for several reasons:nn1. I didn’t want to cause a scene, especially after a long journey from Auckland on my arrival day. And to be fair, I did attempt once to appeal my complaint but attached photo clearly shows unattended reception.n2. I felt it was unnecessary to communicate directly with the property given the lack of respect reflected in the poor condition of the room.n3. We had a tight schedule in the area with plans starting at 5am the next morning, so I couldn’t be bothered with further issues at the time.n4. The availability was limited, as this was a last-minute trip.nnMy booking agent advised me this property denied my complaint and did not apologize for any of the factors I mentioned as per last photo attached to this review. I have only requested a partial refund, as I did stay for two nights, making this compromise very reasonable. Additionally, the ceiling of the wardrobe might not meet health and building compliance standards set by the local council. As someone living in this country, I was surprised by the “partial” room service that was provided—this is not a standard I’ve encountered here. And what is your excuse on the moldy shower and shower filter?
Very clean, small but comfortable studio unit.. very good for my one night stay. Nice staff. Would like a blind in the bathroom even though its opaque glass. And a shelf in the shower would help.. Would happily return.
We loved our stay here! Our room was super clean and comfortable and looked very new. Location is fantastic and they even stored our bags for us when we arrived early before check-in. Staff is all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend, would love to stay here again!
Easy 5 stars. The whole place felt very new, clean and fresh, and the service was awesome! Great location near town.nn11/10 best value for moneyn11/10 cutest cats roaming the grounds
