The Yellow House Cafe

I am hiking the Te Araroa Trail, the length of New Zealand, I have probably been in 40 cafes north of Whanganui, and this is hands down the best one I have been to!nnThe Bacon and Banana pancakes are phenomenal, great coffee and smoothies also. Staff are lovely, and no wonder it is busy in here, because it is so darn good.nnThe only downside is my house is 12,000km away from this cafe, wish it was local to me in the UK nn10/10, would dine again!nn- Ben

What a wonderful cafe that has perfect pancakes and an excellent breakfast menu. The service is very friendly and helpful eventhough they are so busy they have the time with a smile and serve us. The atmosphere, wow, gives you the nostalgic feel. If you are ever in this town, you must not miss a visit.

Lunch on a Saturday. We are returning customers as we enjoyed our first visit here and were keen to return.nUnfortunately our second experience wasn’t as good as the first. Menu seemed to be reduced with limited options compared to previous.nOverall we had: cream and jam scone - average; pineapple ham savoury muffin - average; lamb burger - good; loaded wedges good.nFrom this we concluded cabinet food is so so and the menu is the go.

Had a scone 5.50$ and a coffee5$ .nnAcceptable. Will try other items next time. Although looking at the prices they are generic 30+$ for a breakfast with coffee
