The Sunken Chip

Great wee shop with cool mural. Great chips, gluten free fish batter! Not excessively greasy. Fish options that I noticed after ordering which I would pick next time to choose a fish we all preferred to the standard one.

A wonderful serve of Fish and Chips. The kumara chips in particular were delicious. As always everything was well cooked and crispy.nThe fish had a subtle flavour.

Poor service tonight which is unusual as it is normally good. I ordered quid rings with a bunch of other stuff. These were given away to another customer, and when they went to cook more found they only had one left so had to change my order. This meant a longer wait until these were cooked.nThen once we got home found we were missing our battered fish. So back for another drive wasting petrol to pick up the missing fish while my food sat in the oven keeping warm. On arrival got the fish and the person handing it to me said sorry and that there was an extra piece of fish, I thought great. Except I get home, and the extra fish was missing! Not a good night for service. Will be a while before we come back.

Polite young man. Fish & chips,crab sticks, hot dog, crumbed & battered Fish plus pineapple fritter all delicious.

Ordered the family pack #2 & sweet corn fritter. It's tiny inside the shop, so when all the chairs are occupied, it does feel quite full. We waited over 40 minutes for our order to be ready they didn't bother to say what was ready I went up to the counter to ask after seeing people who had ordered after me have there food ready.nnThe chips were tasteless& brown oil needs to be changed, the springroll tasted & smelt OFF, and the sweet corn fritter was very bland & looked a bit burnt. The only things that tasted ok and edible were the fish small size & hot dog.nnWe will not be returning anytime soon, very disappointed in the meal & service.
