The Sebel Auckland Manukau

I recently stayed at The Sebel in Manukau for 8 nights and unfortunately left very dissatisfied due to a serious issue.nnDuring my stay, I developed multiple bed bug bites, which began appearing partway through the trip and continued daily. This significantly impacted my comfort and wellbeing and is something no guest should experience. I checked the bed at the time and didn’t notice anything obvious, but the bites and their pattern are very concerning as I ended up with new bites everyday. I also paid extra for a larger room with a kitchenette, expecting a higher standard of comfort and cleanliness given the additional cost.nnIn addition, housekeeping was inconsistent. Despite placing the “make up room” sign on the door, our room was not cleaned daily. On most days, I had to call reception myself to request that housekeeping attend to the room, which was inconvenient and disappointing.nnWhile I want to note that some aspects of the hotel were good, for example, the staff were polite, the bed was comfortable, the location was excellent as it was near shops and central to most places. There was also parking available on site.nnOverall, while there were positives, the combination of bed bug bites, inconsistent housekeeping, and the premium price paid for the room makes it difficult for me to recommend this hotel. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues to prevent future guests from having a similar experience.

I stayed here for 1 night after dropping my brother off at the airport- I would have liked to have more than the one night that I had. My room was Lovely - King sized Comfy bed, Brilliant shower. The whole package was great and so relaxing

Stayed at The Sebel Auckland Manukau for a short business/leisure trip and overall it’s a very solid option in South Auckland.nnThe hotel feels modern, clean, and well maintained. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, which makes it a good choice whether you’re travelling for work or just need a convenient stay near the airport and Manukau area.nnWhat stands out:nn* Clean, modern rooms with good natural lightn* Comfortable beds and well designed bathroomsn* Friendly and professional staffn* Great location — close to Westfield Manukau, motorway access, Rainbow’s End, and about 15–20 mins to the airportn* On-site restaurant and bar with decent quality foodn* Good for both short stays and longer business tripsnnThings to note:nn* Parking can be limited and sometimes comes with an extra charge, which catches some guests off guardn* Surrounding area is more functional than scenic more business/retail zone than tourist viben* Can get busy during peak event or travel timesnnOverall, it’s one of the better modern hotels in the Manukau area. Not a luxury resort, but a reliable, comfortable, and clean stay with good service.nnWould definitely stay again for convenience and consistency.

Everything about the stay was good - The only thing I would make a comment on is the food and the price of the food relative to quality. The price of the food resembles closer to fine dining because of the portion sizes - which are small. I would suggest either lower price and keep food the same, or improve portion sizes and quality.

Great place. Stayed for one night in March and everything was impressive. Access through the back, where the front desk is avoided, is awesome. Will be my go to next time I'm in NZ. Julius and Joel were top notch, just like everyone else, chef, bar staff and front staff. Don't change a thing.
