Absolutely amazing experiences for first timer! Georgia the coach was very patient and friendly the staff inside are very welcoming too Beautiful sunrise and sunset views Will definitely be back!! P.S. Always carry snow chains for the drive up. And check weather before driving
Thoroughly enjoyable and well-equipped resort. However, it would have been better if there were more clear physical signage of which are the beginners’ lanes and which are experts’ lanes. Being beginner skiers, we followed the map but once we got off the lift, we ended up in expert’s lanes due to unclear signage. Compared to Coronet, this ski area is much busier with a lot of merging lanes. We recommend Coronet Peak if you want somewhere to practice for beginners.
Our family had a private ski lesson with Mon who was the most friendly and professional coach I have ever met. Thanks to Mon’s patience and teaching skills, we learned how to ski from scratch. Their whole team from reception to site supervision was also friendly and highly approachable. Close to town as well. Highly recommended.
Did an intermediate lesson and had Leah as our instructor. She was by far the best instructor we’ve had over the years. Gave us a lot of super helpful tips and corrected one by one on our techniques. We all perfected our turns and definitely felt a lot more comfortable on the blue slopes by the end of the day. Will definitely recommend her and get her as our instructor for next time.
10 stars for Ski instructor Brigid. Was fortunate to have had her for 2 days, and would comfortably say she was the best instructor I had also had 3 other instructors during the same season Her experience showed, as she could pin point certain nuisances and give me direct feedback to improve. It was an added benefit she had similar back injuries/pains and could cater her teach to suit.
I did the adults first timers group lesson to learn snowboarding and it was amazing! I highly recommend doing it at The Remarkable’s as the slopes are beginner friendly and my teacher, Hannah Monday 3rd October, was so helpful! She gave me great tips and got me doing S turns by the afternoon. She made me feel comfortable and was a great teacher. Thank you!!
A tad cold, but looking forward to returning to do the walk to the top. Awesome view to the Crown Range and down Lake Wakatipu with planes flying below into the airport.
We booked the hotel shuttle which meant we had a guaranteed spot at a guaranteed time. Everyone from the booking team in Queenstown to the rentals crew and the staff on the mountain were amazing. So friendly and genuinely helpful. Beautiful views, yummy food and great facilities. Only thing I'd ask for more of is ski parking bays.
Superb ski resort! The drive was in the bus up to the top was comfy and we even had a bit of fresh snow falling once we go over the cloud cover. As a first timer on the slopes din know what to expect but everything was easy and well managed including transport, clothes and ski rentals. Did the first timer package and had Tessa as our instructor. She was super helpful and patient with her lessons, and corrected us on techniques. We almost learnt to ski independently within a day! If given the option, definitely get her as your ski instructor : The lockers needed to rented for 10$ a day. Food in the cafe's was good and the place had a nice vibe to it overall. The beginners ski area is quite nice and luckily wasn't too crowded. Would absolutely have loved to spend a few more days days here :
Great ski field and not outrageous prices - especially if you get a multi-day pass. I'd recommend getting the shuttle bus in as parking on the mountain is a bit far away. Plus the shuttle goes right into town anyway. I'd also recommend getting there as it opens first bus is at 8am and leaving before it closes closes at 4pm as lines for busses get quite long on busy days. Renting equipment in town and bringing it in is cheaper by around $20.
