Always a pleasure staying here. Private Rooms are excellent value for money, especially considering they have en-suites. Always clean and tidy. A Nelson staple for the start of many adventures, especially for trampers and cyclists. Excellent bar and great food too. Ticks all boxes!

Abert is my absolute favorite restaurant in Nelson — that’s why I chose it for my very last meal before leaving New Zealand.nThe atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are kind and patient. Most of all, the food never fails to impress — every dish I’ve tried was a pleasant surprise, full of flavor and generously portioned. Their NZ dark beer also left a great impression on me. If you’re ever in Nelson, make sure to stop by. You won’t regret it!

We had a short stay in a double room - it was clean enough, nothing wow, but definitely worth the money. The hostel had a simple yet comfortable vibe, making it a good choice for a budget-friendly stay. Great pub with very large portions! We had the roast with pork, curly fries, and a chicken salad - everything was tasty and satisfying. Just be careful with the portion sizes, as they are quite big and can easily be shared.

Great simple tasty pub food, large portions, I had the ribs, couldn't finish it, took it home for a snack.nGreat drinks and friendly atmosphere. Doggo friendly.
