The Prince Albert

An interesting place to stay. I was in a four person bunk room, with bathroom attached, which had lots of space. It was very warm during my stay, and ventilation was an issue. The communal kitchen is tiny and has some not quite enough well used equipment. Very busy kitchen when everyone arrives at the same time. The place was a mix of travellers and semi permanent workers - a lot of people keeping to themselves. Access by bus is brilliant, to central Nelson and the airport. It's about 10-15mins walk to central Nelson.

We had a short stay in a double room - it was clean enough, nothing wow, but definitely worth the money. The hostel had a simple yet comfortable vibe, making it a good choice for a budget-friendly stay. Great pub with very large portions! We had the roast with pork, curly fries, and a chicken salad - everything was tasty and satisfying. Just be careful with the portion sizes, as they are quite big and can easily be shared.

Excellent takeaway for two - beef brisket nachos and a creamy garlic prawns. Never fails, and always consistently good food and service. Staff very friendly and welcoming, a venue we frequent often. Food 10/10

Visiting from the UK and came here for drinks and a meal with our NZ family. Best chicken parmi I have ever had. Great selection of beers too and service was top class. Highly recommended. Can't comment on the rooms as didn't stay here.
