Morrison Street Cafe, 244 Hardy Street, Nelson, NZ

Story

Morrison Street Cafe sits in a character, historic building in central Nelson.
We specialise in fresh, healthy food and excellent coffee and are open for breakfast, lunch and coffee all day.
We cater well for those with food sensitivities, with many wheat and gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options on the menu.
We also have a healthy kids menu.
There is plenty of indoor seating at intimate or shared tables, some street-front tables and an outdoor terrace for those lovely sunny Nelson days.
We have a monthly newsletter, in both electronic and hard copy format, and a number of loyalty offers each month - email us to sign up.
We also feature local artists in regularly changing exhibitions in our two gallery spaces.

Really lovely staff, thank you Danaan + Carrie!, great hearty breakfast, good proportions and cooked well, amazing coffee too.
Amazing food in huge portions with great ambiance and I love the morning music. Customer service is to the top of the mountains. The veggie dish is super tasty especially the potato cake combination with green spinach and mushrooms. Pancake is lovely. Coffee is good and my green smoothie is healthy So glad to be here and enjoying this beautiful moment!
Initial impressions great as we were greeted in a friendly, welcoming manner. Seated and allowed to order food even though the kitchen was about to close. Good looking, modern interior, clean and tidy. We just wanted a snack and coffee so ordered fries. There is a choice of sauces. The chips were delicious, shinny with skins on and a morish spicy seasoning. Unfortunately the coffee was horrendous. Possibly the worst I've ever had. Worth trying some other food off the menu probably. But will never return for coffee.
I was promised the best coffee in town and it was! We had a wonderful meal the staff were happy to provide me with a small portion of breakfast and the pumpkin soup my husband had was sublime. Thanks Morrison's for a lovely experience.
We went into this lovely eatery for Sunday brunch - had the pancakes and chicken & bacon waffle. Food was absolutely lovely, staff were very friendly and the service was great. We will DEFINITELY be back soon!

The best eggs benedict I've had in a while. Nice spot for people watching and great service also.
Love Morrisons! Coffee is delicious every time and the food is tasty too. It can get quite busy because it's a local favourite - but it's that for a reason!
Not child friendly at all. They do not have a suitable safe high chair that clicks a one year old in. They also are not accomodating to changing their menus for a child. Eg making a baby omelette, this is the first cafe I have experienced that will not do this. Unhelpful staff. Small portion meals for what you pay. Disappointing experience we will not be back.
Amazing food and great coffee. Portion sizes are very good for the price. You won't be disappointed. Full flavour and great options on the menu. We will be back. Pictured is the chicken and bacon waffle. Thanks!
