A great location tucked away with a nice view of Victoria Park in the heart of the Victoria Park Market precinct. Nice menu choices and their lunch specials jumped right out at me right away. Whether you are stopping by for brunch, lunch or even an early start to happy hour starts from 3pm-6pm daily you'll find something for you to try. Pick whether you want to hangout on the deck, or tuck away in one of their cosy corners and sink into some comfy furniture, either way it will feel like home. Fun fact, it was the social dinner location for NZ television show Married at First Sight, but unlike the show that didn't continue, you'll be sure to build on your relationship with The Oakroom . The home made pie was well balanced, seasoned, great flavor and hint of spice, was enough to feed anyone starving for a feed! Same can be said about the fish n chips! Coffee is great there and the service is top notch. Drop by and let them know I sent you, and I may catch you there for a feed or drink!
Went here for lunch with a group of 6. Steak was delicious and prices were good. Staff were friendly and efficient and lunch was served in about 10 minutes which was remarkable as they were quite busy. Definitely recommendable.
Delicious lunch deal: steak + beer. I would say it was almost perfect steak, but I'd fry fat a bit more. Friendly staff, cold beer, great view and perfect location.
We hosted a private function here 2 weeks ago and couldn't have been more thrilled with how easy things were to coordinate! Thank you and your team so much for having us!
We attended a private function here, the owner who was working behind the bar was so aggressive, yelling at people and so abrupt. She definitely doesn’t belong in front of house, she was so rude it put people off wanting to order any drinks at all. Nice venue but you need to step back and let your staff run things as it seems this isn’t a one off occurrence.
We came to this place late at night and it was quiet busy but we found a place to sit. They were playing reggaeton which I loved and we had a couple of drinks and shisha, which I believed was about $30. I'm not an expert but it was good. The stuff were friendly and the atmosfere was good.
What a great venue for a party ! The vibe of the bar is great. However the owner/manager with the short blonde hair absolutely brings it down.. very very rude, very abrupt and not happy to accommodate people at private functions well at all. Young bar stuff were great but obviously very weary of the over lord. Please work on this as almost all of the function mentioned your rudeness.
It's a nice place with a nice interior and good staff service.
Huge steaks perfectly cooked, generous portions and attentive staff make this our go to place for client lunches and staff drinkies.
We attended an art event here, and tbh this is not an ideal venue for this event as the lighting was inadequate for painting by. We couldn't see the demonstration - the marks just didn't show up in the gloom, but were at least near a light for actually painting on our own canvases. Some people were trying to paint by the light of their own phones. However, despite this, I'm pretty impressed by the paintings we brought home. So it can't have been too bad. The oak room itself was a lovely place and had good atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food seemed very expensive that could just be a sign of the times The available menu was very limited Wednesday night and sold out of the items we ordered. With what was available we would have actually preferred to order a range of bar snacks but this wasn't really an option/available. We had chips and pizzas in the end.
