Made a quick stop for a takeaway coffee, so can't comment on the food, but the flat white was OK. The place itself is great, nice and open and light. As the name suggests you can buy locally made honey on site, which I'm sure is delicious but again, didn't sample. Service was friendly and fast, it wasn't busy but I imagine it would be pumping on the weekends!
Really well positioned if you are in need of refreshment on the road. The staff are absolutely lovely! I had a chocolate milkshake which was super yummy and full of flavour. The cabinet food looked delicious and there are lots of items for sale from local crafters/artists as well as plentiful honey products! Outside is dog friendly, they even have a water bowl for your pooch!
This unassuming place had what could be the best cheese scone I've ever eaten. The raspberry chocolate muffin was delectable too. Definitely worth the stop, this is a surprising gem, with a basic Cafe set upFood: 5/5
A great place for coffee and breakfast. Bought some local honey while watching bees fly qround the cafe windows.
Two things I was impressed with, when walking into this pkace were the food in the cabinets and the exceptionally well mannered staff. The food was beautiful and definitely not expensive. I would recommend this place to traveller's coming from over the hill, if you want some refreshments after a long drive. Do not st op at the shop in Kumara it is never open The Honey Cafe is perfect Kid-friendliness: I did notice there was a safe and inviting room where children could chill out. Parking: There will never be a shortage of parking at this place.
The food was great, service was fantastic. Earl Grey tea was perfect. Very good prices.Food: 5/5
coffe was ok, but we arrive at 2.35 pm, and the woman attending the place was rude and showed clearly that she was closing and that she was not happy with us ordering three drinks. Not recommended.
Very good indeed. Large car park, spacious interior, inside and outside table options. Food was good chicken burger, corn stack special, chunky fries and coffee was well made. Prices were reasonable. We were very very full post luncheon. Staff were friendly and service was timely. Toilets could have been slightly cleaner but we visited right before closing time so I guess that was why. They weren’t bad though. Cool artwork at great prices was available, just a shame I didn’t have room to take a piece home to England.
Lovely Cafe. Loved the displays of honey and jewellery. Nice selection of food. Nice lounge area as well as regular table and cheers. Service was good. Scone was delicious...nice and warm with butter.
Didn't go to the cafe as being closed this month but spent the night on the car park with my self contained vehicle. Thanks for letting us stay there for free. OK its alongside the road but after 9 not many cars and there is actually a nice view over the mountains
