Had a good 2 night stay here. Staff was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the beautiful garden and space. The hotel is located away from the main city centre at least 20min walk so this location might not suit those without their own rental vehicle. Worth noting though that it was easy and affordable enough navigating the city with uber. We were given a ground floor room facing the car park and one of the staff was kind enough to switch us to an inner room facing the garden which was a huge improvement. Perhaps the management should look into improving the quality of stay and privacy of those units facing the car park. Extend the gardens/bushes perhaps?. All in all highly recommended for couples, families and those who are looking for a quaint, peaceful stay. Food & drinks: Restaurant was very popular Noteworthy details: Heated outdoor pool
We had a very nice two night say in December. It is very close to the botanical gardens. An easy walk downtown on a nice day. We had dinner at the restaurant on the property. Prices were reasonable considering it was a hotel. Food was pretty good. We loved the lamb. Very good wine selection and mixed drinks. The room was solid, just what you would expect from a double tree. The staff was exceptionally nice. We had just arrived with one sick kid and had been driving for five hours. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel was very nice, good location quiet- which was nice!. We would come back again.
Lovely hotel and great breakfast. Good location, not too far from the airport and a nice walk through the gardens to the city center. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was a stand out - it had so many choices!
There is something unique about this location. It’s retro cool but somehow really could use a modern update from its 70’s vibe. However I really enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff, manager were great to me along with the restaurant staff. The room was comfortable and clean. My only hiccup here was the bartender. She was the only unhappy New Zealander I came across during my entire 16 day visit thankfully. The location is really nice so close to the park but far enough that it’s not real easy to stroll to downtown. I cashed in way more points on this single night stay than I would normally but I think the value was pretty worth it overall. I’d come back but bring my own cocktail
The staff service was bad but we also had a big group of people and when we asked for refills of soap or shampoo they had none available, however, they were informative about locations of certain places. We also had a lot of mixup with the room bookings and needed refunds that weren't getting sorted out properly. The rooms were good but were a bit smaller than expected. The room we had was comfortable for two people but we ended up having four people in one of those rooms. There was also no room service available for all the rooms we had booked and we don't even know why. The tags to our rooms also ended up not working and we had to sort that out multiple times also. The buffet breakfast had many choices of food and was very gourmet. The pool smelled bad but we did have a lot of fun wading around in it. I wouldn't recommend coming to Chateau on the Park.
We stayed here for one night. Our travel agent had informed & emailed them that we are there on honeymoon, yet the receptionist told us that she wasn’t informed and they didn’t give any complimentary upgrade. Though they gave free wine & cookies instead. That was a sweet gesture. The room size was quite decent though. Very weird thing, there was no shower gel near the bathtub, only shampoo, lotion & conditioner?! Plus it was in refill bottles attached, so we had no option for shower gel. We had to check the weight of our luggage but their weighing scale wasn’t working nor did they have any alternate option so that was a big bummer. Breakfast had good options for both veg & non veg.
Had a beautiful breakfast. A point of caution is that the barista coffee is wonderful but is not included in the buffet and is an additional charge which is quite nominal. Asked for poached eggs and was served one of the best ones I have ever eaten. 10 on 10 Rooms: Tidy and clean.
I really enjoy my stay here. Comfortable and cozy. I love their heating bar in toilet for towel. Room featuring heating and cooling air conditioning. Try their in house steak , amazingly delicious. Room is spacious and location is convenient. They provide warm cookies upon check in too ! Walkability: Walking distance to botanic garden, riccarton streets and many. Food & drinks: Delicious food , plenty option for in room dining . Late dining menu is available too.
Great room, overlooking the pool, very comfortable bed for adults, being a king size bed. Downside was the $60 p/n for a rollaway bed for our son Sliding doors between the boudoir and the lounge needs some attention, but didn't hamper our couple of nights. Being next to Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens is another bonus. Meals in Garden Restaurant were delicious. I'd certainly stay here again
The hotel was really nice. The rooms are very comfortable. The ambiance was really homey-feeling. It is a walking distance to the park, restaurants and convenience stores. The thing I was amazed which I have never seen with other hotels is that they close their gates at night 10-ishp pm and it opens in the morning around 7-ish for security. Nearby activities: There's a nearby park 5-10 mins walk. Restaurants and bar around the corner. And mall which is 15-20 mins walk Safety: The thing I was amazed which I have never seen with other hotels is that they close their gates at night 10-ishp pm and it opens in the morning around 7-ish for security.
