The Chippery

Tough to rate because they were sold out of a ton of meal options when we went, so we didn't have a lot of choice on food. For what our group was able to get, portions were great, taste was OK, and service was friendly. Service was a bit slow, but not unreasonably so. Good spot to try if you are in the area. The menu looks delish, so when they are fully stocked I would love to give this spot another try with the foods we were hoping to get originally.

Ordered through Delivereasy. A bit more upmarket than your usual f&c shop but it is a bit more fancy too. Originally got delivered the wrong order but they got me my one in the end. The squid, chips and panko fish burger were all great. The curly fries are exceptionally yum. Food quality was decent for delivered f&c, which usually don't travel well

Great chips with gravy and delicious snapper. I think having proper plates for dine in would help presentation and the environment too. Wooden cutlery and cardboard boxes are great but still unnecessary when dining in.

Food a little greasy and lacking in seasoning, service took a while expected since was busy and a little on the expensive side but overall nice experience. Got halloumi burger and onion rings. Staff so much fun & lively. Xtra points for playing zella day Food: 3/5

I got the halloumi fries and they were horrendous. Just very thin slices of halloumi thrown in the deep fryer. Lukewarm and very unappetising - I didn't realise halloumi could be prepared so poorly.Food: 1/5

This is a hidden gem and quite a value! The chef is clearly passionate about food and his work, and it’s a contagious positive environment! He was wonderful, explaining the differences in the foods and teaching us how he identifies the best sections. Ordered the fish and chips, the fish was incredible, perfect balance of batter and fish! Their speciality fries were definitely a lot of potatoe, but still delicious and unique! The service, quality, and value of this place are on point, and I highly recommend everyone stop in for a bite and to see a passionate chef inspire you!

We arrived just after closing time, however the awesome staff member was kind and generous and offered to fry us up! Great service, awesome approach and the choice of chips was a first for me! The team also kindly doubled us up on fish goodness as they were the last remaining fillets for the day! What a great place and the food was fresh, fresh, fresh and tasty, thank you Mt Vic Chippery!

Fantastic feed of fresh fish and handcut chips. A classic example of "you get what you pay for" and worth the money! Enjoyed just around the corner in Oriental Bay.Food: 5/5

My fish had a big hair in the batter. Our chips were under cooked and the potato fritter so over cooked it was rock solid with no potato evident. The tables in the eating area are filthy. Don't buy from here and definitely don't think about eating in. Disgusting!!!Food: 1/5
