Have lived here twice combined total of nearly 5 years. Would go back again. Lived in the family block where linen is supplied. I would go back again. Carefree living and the internet is reasonably priced. You pay for washing and drying with good machines. There is a community garden for growing fruit and vegetables which has grown over time. I love the community spirit. The owners and management are marvelous. The residents who want to get together to organize events to celebrate holidays and events.
Me and partner found it hard to find a rental. So we decided to stay here long term. Very quiet and the staff here are very friendly. The rooms are a good size. There is a public gaming lounge and TV room with sky. Communal kitchen but have a kitchenette on every floor. I recommend this place to anyone who is wanting accommodation at cheap rates.
Stayed at the lodge for about 6 months while studying at WITT. Friendly staff, the room was clean and tidy when I moved in, room had a radiator which kept the room nice and warm, they had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and the bond was returned within 24 hours of leaving. Would recommend to everyone.
I think this place is underrated as an affordable, clean, central accomodation. Its secure, parking is good and the owners take care of its residents really well, even put on free dinners in Easter and Xmas, that's rare nowadays. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
We had booked for 2 nights at the Te Henui Lodge and only stayed one, not long after we arrived, one of the workers came out to tell us 'you need to keep them quiet my children as we dont even allow kids here and the only reason we agreed was because we know bobby my auntys husband which i found totally unwelcoming and rude. Considering my children were very well behaved and my 3yr old was just excited that it was dinner time, running over to where we were going to eat. Then i was followed around and stared at making me feel uncomfortable. If you didnt want children at your lodge you should not have agreed to book us in, instead of make us feel unwelcome. Never will stay here again!
