We recently had a week-long stay in the paediatric ward, and every member of staff was so kind, caring, and supportive. It was especially refreshing to see junior doctors who were so relatable, approachable, and down-to-earth. We felt listened to and kept informed every step of the way, with everything explained clearly throughout our son’s care.nnThank you to everyone who looked after our family during a stressful time. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication made all the difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful care we received.
Big to the staff at ED and CCU. 3 weeks ago I went in with chest pain and received the best of service and treatment right from triage, through ED and up to CCU. ALL staff were fantastic and treated me better than staff at a Pullman hotel. I received angioplasty and was looked after so well. And even the food wasn’t bad . Thanks Team from the bottom of my still beating heart.
Went into the respiratory department today for breathing tests, the person working there called Donna was not nice. She was direct and blunt didn’t make me feel comfortable at all, no smile not welcoming couldn’t wait to get out of there. Complained to the doctor about her, you should be able to be made comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. If I ever have to go back to that department I will demand to have someone else giving me the tests. She just wasn’t nice, the doctor was lovely.
My husband was not amused by the question asked when he finally got to see what he thought was a doctor but was only a very rude nurse with no bedside manners toward his pain his knee was still very swollen and painfull.the said nurse asked why he did not go to his GP and that he should have instead of going to A&E. When he explained that his Dr was in another part of nz and did not live in a house her reply was to transfer to one in bop. Yeh sure was his reply how long and how much for pensioner to do this. It could be months. Anyway I all of this was not in a polite way and felt very insecure. He was asked not to come back if his knee flared up more.
I would like to share my gratitude to the staff at Tauranga Hospital and my sincere appreciation for the kind and professional experiences which I have had. I was admitted to hospital in January after suffering serious diverticula bleeds. I suffered an even more serious bleed after admission and the response of all staff who responded to the red alert was amazing. The care which ensued was excellent -it was my first admission to a hospital and I felt I was in safe and caring hands throughout my 9 day stay. My subsequent experience with outpatient contact and the day-stay ward when I had a colonoscopy was equally professional and medical staff were kind and caring. I am still in recovery mode, but doing well under the management of my GP. There was a moderate delay in securing the out-patient appointment given the expectation of urgency, but the delay was only a couple of weeks beyond the indication given, and when I followed this up with the hospital the staff who contacted me were courteous and helpful. I had a life-threatening experience, but Tauranga Hospital did a great job - doctors, nursing staff, support staff, phlebotomists, orderlies, out-patient co-ordinators - all of them. Thank you.
