I had a bilateral breast reduction at Grace Hospital and my recovery experience there was nothing short of awesome. The nurses who took care of me post-op and overnight were so friendly, professional and their communication with me about what medications I was being given etc was great. Thanks so much Lisa, Tina, Gill and Joanne, and all the other nurses involved in my care. I'm so grateful to have been treated so well
I had surgery here and it was such a positive experience. My surgeon was fantastic, incredibly approachable, knowledgeable and caring. Two of the nurses I had were particularly wonderful too - Alex and Gill. I felt very well looked after and the nurses took their time to chat with me and answer any questions I had. The cafe here is great too!
My experience with John Bridgeman, who works at Grace Hospital, was profoundly disappointing. Despite his role as a healthcare professional and a doctor, he demonstrated a disturbingly outdated and judgmental view of addiction. His approach, which seems to frame addiction as a moral failing rather than a medical condition, is out of touch with modern healthcare standards and deeply lacking in compassion.nnBased on my experience with him, I would be wary of seeking treatment at Grace Hospital if he is involved in your care. If you’re there for dental implants, you might find yourself subtly blamed for your condition, all while being charged top dollar for the privilege. And rest assured, with that attitude, he will likely sleep soundly at night. This is speculation, of course, but it’s informed by my dealings with him.nnIf you value empathy, professionalism, and a modern understanding of patient care, I strongly recommend seeking another provider. Grace Hospital would do well to ensure that all their practitioners uphold the compassionate and understanding principles that patients rightfully expect from a healthcare institution.nnDr David Crowther BPharm, BDS
It takes me about 30 to 40 mins to drive to the hospital. Got all the way there to hear they are running an hour behind. I work full time and advised them next time they are running behind to please call me as I had to try to reschedule 2 meetings to keep my appointment at the fracture clinic. Turn up again today to find they are running atleast an hour behind again my appointment was at 10.50am so sounds like they are over committing to be an hour behind this early in the day. I block out 2 hours on my work calendar for these appointments and I had a meeting that I could not reschedule today. So waste of time, energy and petrol as I could not wait the hour. A courtesy call at least to say you are running behind would be great. I didn't get the care that I need and have now been advised that this will not happen until atleast next year now.
If you need to be ill this is the place to do so. Staff are so friendly, facilities immaculate, care exceptional, and the process is fast and efficient. Truly a model of how hospitals should be run.nn10 Oct 2023 - still an amazing facility. Day stay is quick and easy. In at 8am, out by noon. The staff are just so friendly and accommodating.
